Simple answer, as I mentioned earlier. Moderated/approved posting for new members for at least the first three or four posts.
Removed all these, and re-flagged with the DTL team. We tried something new, which evidently hasn't worked. Just as an FYI - adding things like captchas, post delays, new player moderation - they would take a little time to implement, so we're trying to find a more immediate solution.
Given that those posts are in a language few if any people here read, and they're posted in huge numbers at a time when no moderation is available, I'm wondering if the disruptive flood is the purpose, not the spam itself.
Keep getting bots and I am outta here. Bots just like making everything 100 times worse. Never get bots on Rivet's forums.
If it happens again, just click the bot's name on the left of any of it's posts, then click "ignore" in the window that pops up.
Oooh new word! What is an operative word? I tried looking up the definition but it doesn't make sense in this context.
I think I liked the nigerian prince who needed my bank account to park a few millions better than the chinese version of Monty Python.
Cambridge dictionary definition of operative word: So LOT is the operative word as it’s the word you wanted to stress hence the most important and why you put it in CAPS.
There is also a guy posting malicious links on the forums, which was highlighted yesterday as a copy paste from months ago, and now their second post is the same thing but with extra urls that shouldn't be clicked on. I reported it, but given nothing was done yesterday, doubtful it will be done today. Even if the stream mods had some privileges on here it might be useful.
No real need for moderators the DTG we have are good enough. Seems the bots have stopped and if they were to look for moderators they would have done waaayyyyyy back. The way the forum runs works if it’s not broken don’t fix it.
