This proposal introduces the ultimate heavy-haul, multi-subdivision freight experience for Train Sim World: the iconic Union Pacific "Rock Train" (often designated as the WCAGR / GRWCA symbols). Serving exclusively the Robertson Ready Mix facilities in Cabazon CA and Gardena CA. This heavy aggregate service runs approximately 90 miles from the Rock quarry in Cabazon, CA all the way to the industrial processing plant in Gardena, CA.

Because of the route's massive length and changing environments, it is perfectly suited to be released as an epic 3-Part Route Trilogy. It utilizes existing UP and BNSF licenses while solving the common TSW issue of "one-trick pony" routes by offering heavy mountain railroading, high and low-speed double track mainline running, intense and urban all in a single corridor run.

    The 3-Part Route Breakdown

Part 1: Cabazon to Colton (UP Yuma Subdivision) The Operation: Crew boards a massive, 40 car unit rock train loaded at the Cabazon aggregate quarry. The Challenge: Battling the notorious San Gorgonio Pass. (Beaumont Hill) Engineers must manage massive tonnage down a steep 1.9% grade, utilizing dynamic braking and careful air brake applications. Scenery & Vibe: High-desert mountain peaks, sweeping curves through the pass, and a transition into the dense, sun-drenched Inland Empire.

The Hub Destination: Ends at the legendary West Colton Yard, allowing players to experience operations at one of the largest hump yards in the United States.

Part 2: Colton to Redondo Junction (BNSF Southern Transcon)The Operation: The UP rock train utilizes trackage rights over the BNSF Southern Transcon via the San Bernardino Subdivision. The Challenge: Navigating a relentless, high-density triple-track mainline. Players must maintain speed while dodging high-priority BNSF intermodals and Metrolink passenger traffic. Scenery & Vibe: Heavy industrial corridors, the scenic Santa Ana River crossing, and iconic southern California passenger hubs like Riverside and Fullerton. (This can set up for future Metrolink routes too)

The Hub Destination: Ends at Redondo Junction, the bustling throat right on the edge of Downtown Los Angeles.

Part 3: Redondo Junction to Gardena (UP Wilmington Subdivision, El Segundo, & Torrance Leads) The Operation: The train transitions to local delivery mode, threading through the heart of the LA Basin to offload aggregate at the Gardena facilities. The Challenge: Slow-speed, high-stakes railroading featuring sharp curves, tight clearances, numerous grade crossings, and authentic street-running operations where trains share space with city traffic.

The Routing: From Redondo Junction, the train takes the Wilmington Subdivision down to Watts. Just past the historic Watts Depot, it switches onto the El Segundo Industrial Lead. It then dives directly under the massive I-105 / I-110 freeway interchange trench, where the track splits south onto the Torrance Industrial Lead (Torrance Branch).

The Hub Destination: The final drop-off and switching puzzle at the Robertson's Ready Mix unloading facility in Gardena.

Why This Route Wins? Unmatched Gameplay Variety: No other TSW route shifts gears like this. It evolves seamlessly from heavy mountain braking to 60mph mainline cruising, and finishes with gritty, tight urban industrial street-running and switching. License-Ready: Dovetail Games already maintains robust licensing agreements with both Union Pacific, Metrolink (AI traffic) and BNSF. This proposal requires zero legal breakthroughs to get greenlit. And we can use the UP AC4400CWs or SD70ACe since we already own it. And for engine set ups its 1x1(most of the time), 1x2 or 2x1 depending how they set it up.

I personally feel this would be an amazing route to play. Thank you for your time to even consider reading this.

    This sounds really cool with lots of heavy freights in LA. New locos for UP: AC6000CW/C44ACM, SD90MAC-H/SD90-43MAC, C40-8, C40-8W, C44-9W, SD60, SD60M, SD70M, SD59MX, SD70ACe-T4, ES44AC, ET44AC, GP60, GP40N
