Welcome to the Unofficial Screenshot Competition This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG. Here you can share your weekly themed TSC screenshots using any 3rd party / post shot editing etc. creations which are not allowed in the official competition. Rules: TSC only shots allowed. Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. Otherwise anything goes. You can enter up to 3 screenshots, posted as separate posts. You can delete and replace if you wish. 3rd party content / Reshades / Reskins etc. are welcomed but are not mandatory. Previous week's winner to decide winner (can't enter themselves). The winner chooses the new theme for next week (and becomes the new judge). The Judge of the week's decision is final. We strongly discourage any negative comment or criticism of another entry by a fellow contributor, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so. Please keep chat to an absolute minimum. Entries will close at 21:00 GMT on Friday, January 20th and will be judged by me - cscarpenter In the event of this weeks winner not responding by 17:00 Sunday, January 22nd, a new thread will be created using the theme with the highest votes in this weeks poll. This weeks theme will be Remember When ....... Feel free to interpret this theme however you wish Have fun & good luck to all!

Remember back in 1996 ....... when Class 150s and Class 37s were the flavour of the day on the Chat Moss Line?
Remember when...... I took a screenshot in a totally vanilla game with no RWE2 and no Re-shade? I do. it was last week... Thanks to a suggestion from Matt Peddlesden I now have two TS installs, a vanilla one which is in the usual Steam file structure and my modded and third party DLC'd daily driver isolated from Steam on a drive all of it's own, this above image was the result of using DSR (Dynamic Screen Resolution) upscaling my 1080p to 4k.
B&O's Columbian makes a stop at Grafton, on its way to Baltimore and Washington D.C. It's 1961, and as is apparent by the weeds, passenger service is beginning to decline. Railroads have begun allowing their stations to fall into disrepair. The train itself is only 3 years away from its final run. Route Used: B&O Mountain Subdivision Locomotive Used: EMD F7
May, 1946. ATSF 4-8-4 #2924 races south along the Del Mar bluffs with the San Diegan in tow. Note that the engine is running with its stack extender, commonly used to keep smoke away from the crew when running at speed. Route Used: Pacific Surfliner Locomotive Used: ATSF 2900
Remember when i started making a fictional route. But then ran out of imagination after the first station
"She's right on time!" SP&S Class E-1 '700' rushes past 2 engineers as the train approaches Altoona. Loco: SP&S Class E-1 Route: Horseshoe Curve
British Railways Standard Class 9F '92212' reverses into Viaduct Yard nearby Carlisle Station to form a long freight train to take up the line from Kingmoor. Loco: British Railways Standard Class 9F Route: Western Lines of Scotland

Ladies & Gentlemen, I'm afraid last orders have been announced and this contest is now closed. Yet again you all fail to disappoint with your entries, they are all just wonderful, thank you so much for sharing. But good as they all are, I have to decide on a winner and as difficult as that has been, without further ado. In joint 3rd Place with a well deserved bronze medal buzz4567 for this fantastic retro F3 capture and Blazin for this SP&S Class E-1 '700 "on time" shot. In equal 2nd Place and joint Silver Medal Reef with his stunning Reshade TFW 158 shot, Just love it. and Craigie-C with this gorgeous retro UK electric image, (I take it you are an AP fan?) can't fault you. And finally I have decided to award 1st Place and our coveted Gold Medal Place to Buynot To me this image just captures the whole "remember when" these locos were the norm, even down to the weeds growing through the track as services declined. Terrific shot and in my eyes a worthy winner. Buynot you now have the honour of Judge and Jury for next week, please accept our golden master key to take us forward to whatever theme you choose for next week. Many thanks to all for your continued contributions I really have enjoyed them all. Best wishes
May I also add an honourable mention to Paulc & Craigie-C for these terrific Class 37 shots They certainly were the Kings of Freight in the UK Also to I'm a railfan obviously, for this terrific duo of SW EPBs and finally Johnno124 .... reckon we have all been there at some stage, I get like that with scenarios. Good luck with your future ventures. Thanks again to all, looking forward to seeing your entries for next week.
I'll take that any day, thanks for the mention and joint 2nd .................. say no more, dead chuffed. Congratulations Buynot , well deserved, great shot.
Congrats to everyone but just to correct you on one minor detail, my shot was completely vanilla, (i.e. no mods no reshade and no RWE2) many thanks for the 2nd place, appreciated.
Took a couple of months off from competing in these, and now I'm back, so it's nice to see I've still got it lol. Thanks, cscarpenter ! New thread is up and can be found here: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/unofficial-screenshot-contest-2023-week-4.64266/
