Welcome to the Unofficial Screenshot Competition This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG. Here you can share your weekly themed TSC screenshots using any 3rd party / post shot editing etc. creations which are not allowed in the official competition. Rules: TSC only shots allowed. Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. Otherwise anything goes. You can enter up to 3 screenshots, posted as separate posts. You can delete and replace if you wish. 3rd party content / Reshades / Reskins etc. are welcomed but are not mandatory. Previous week's winner to decide winner (can't enter themselves). The winner chooses the new theme for next week (and becomes the new judge). The Judge of the week's decision is final. We strongly discourage any negative comment or criticism of another entry by a fellow contributor, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so. Please keep chat to an absolute minimum. Entries will close at 9:00 PM GMT on Friday, February 2nd 2024 and will be judged by me - Blazin In the event of this weeks winner not responding by 5:00 PM GMT Sunday, February 4th, a new thread will be created using the theme with the highest votes in this weeks poll. Theme for this week : "Long Distance Trains" Feel free to interpret the theme however you wish. Good luck to all, but most importantly, remember to have fun.
A trio of the original (and some say, the best!) long distance high speed trains of Germany sit in the underground portion of Berlin Hbf. Train: ICE 1 x3 Route: Berlin-Leipzig
Route: Bahnstrecke Strasbourg-Karlsruhe Train: DB BR 101 Nothing is more long distance than an overnight train
Route: LGV Medditeriane: Lyon-Marseille Train: TGV Sud-Est Ah yes, the french high-speed railway network.
92 020 with the 1S26 overnight Caledonian service seen just North of Carlisle at just after 05:00 on a beautiful summers morning. This train set out from London Euston at 23:45 the previous night and will arrive in Glasgow at 07:30 covering a distance of 345 miles.
5 hours after leaving London Euston, 92 038 is seen breaching Shap Summit with a rake of MK5 Caledonian express sleepers. Only another 2hrs 50mins to go.
In 2019, 91114 'Durham Cathedral' passes in front of its famous namesake on an early evening service from London Kings Cross to Stirling. At 430 miles (629 kilometres) in length, this is one of the longest services in the UK to be operated with a train under overhead wires for its whole length.

Hello everyone, here are the results for this week! Lot's of excellent submissions, pretty hard to choose! In 3rd place is I`m a railfan obviously with this simple but great screenshot of an overnight long distance German train with some car carrier wagons I spot in the background too to really emphasise that long distance objective of the train. In 2nd place is cscarpenter with an awesome screenshot of this GNER Class 43 departing from Peterborough. HSTs are truly a long distance icon of the UK and I personally love the GNER livery and era! In 1st place is don237 is a brilliant moody shot of a german long distance train. I really like this one because it really feels cozy and long distance to me, everything I am looking for in this week. It's night time and dark, which is an iconic part of a long distance train as they usually travel overnight too. It's long as well and I love how the only major source of lighting in this screenshot is from the coaches putting an emphasis on the train and making it feel sort of cozy if that makes sense. Overall just a cozy and moody shot at the same time which matches that "long distance" theme for me perfectly. Well done!! Looking forward to the theme you choose for next week don237!
Did not think that would happen, had a pretty hard time actually coming up with something It was a pretty fun scenario too, from around 5:30 to 6:30, so right into dawn at the end. Ok, when i come up with something i take us into next week. Thanks!
