The NewYork - New Haven line is a 75 mile railway that runs from the heart of the big apple all the way through to New Haven, a large town home to one of the most prestigious universities in the world. why this route you may ask? Well - The New York to New Haven Line, part of the Northeast Corridor, is one of the oldest and most historically significant rail routes in the United States. It is ran by both the MTA and Amtrack who run a premium express service between both stations. The route should also come equipped with the very short New Canaan branch, to allow for more service patterns. The New haven branch comes up to an extra 6 miles

Major Stations on the line include
    1. Grand Central: Grand Central is one of the largest and most iconic mainline stations not only in the United States, but the entire world. It is mainly served by MTA services along with a few other regional Amtrak services
    2. New York Penn Station: another major station located in the heart of New York, not too far off the madison square garden. This route has already made a cameo in the New York - Trenton line for train sim world 3
    3. Harlem 125th street:- the second main stop for the MTA ran Connecticut services, also very close to the iconic Yankees Stadium, which also has a branch, and if added should include a special scenario to simulate a game day at the Yankees.
    3. New Rochelle: This is essentially where the Connecticut MTA services join up with the northeast corridor and is the end of the third rail section of the route
    4. Stamford: The first major station served by all services on this line. It is a major city that has a depot yard parallel to the station
    5. Bridgeport : a very major station located next to an important landmark. Can be served by regional Amtrak services
    6. New Haven Union: which is the northernmost terminal point of the line. It is located in New Haven CT, and is the home of the very prestigious Yale University.
    7. New Haven State Street: this is a small station north of new haven and is the northernmost terminal of the route

NOTE: Most of the New York Grand Central - New Rochelle is already part of the Harlem line.

Total route mileage between NY and NH is 75 miles making it appropriate for Train Sim World 4

Excellent post, this is definitely a line with so much potential! It would complete the rolling stock for Metro North if the P32 is added alongside the M8s. Furthermore, being the busiest line between LIRR and Metro North, action along this route gets VERY intense during rush hour allowing for a diverse range of services and therefore replay ability. Adding this extension of the NEC would mean that it could be potentially possible to run an Amtrak service from Trenton all the way to New Haven. The route is extremely scenic as well as seen by a few parts of it below:

The Hells Gate Bridge, connecting Amtrak trains running from Penn Station to the New Haven Line in New Rochelle.

The Mianus River Railroad Bridge between Cos Cob and Riverside

    Stamford Station

    The Housatonic River Bridge

    Mott Haven Junction

    West Haven Station

Layering this into the Harlem Line will definitely make Metro North feel completely realistic in game and it would especially offer a diverse experience of train action between Grand Central and Woodlawn (M7, M3, P32, M8) and then another diverse experience from New Rochelle to New Haven (ACS64, Acela, P32, M8). I would be absolutely thrilled to see this route added to Train Sim World. It would be exciting to drive those shiny red trains and large diesels into Grand Central. Although this will definitely take time to create, I'm sure the wait would be worth it!

This sounds pretty much like a copy/paste of the TSC route, which is some of the most fantastic content for the game (especially with all available DLC installed).

I will make a couple suggestions:

    - The older New Rochelle segment, while in-game, isn't compatible with TSW4 and would have to be rebuilt from scratch to meet current standards.

    - We probably don't need the CT Rail commuter content for this portion of the route. Realistically they'd be seen primarily around New Haven and without Hartford Line or Shoreline East extensions wouldn't do much. (Also the photo you posted is an Amtrak unit).

    - Willow, that Housatonic River bridge is further north, off the Waterbury Branch. You wouldn't be able to see it from the NEC.

    - As much as I would love to see dual-mode equipment and Shoreliner cars, they're primarily used for GCT direct trains off the Waterbury and Danbury branches. Maybe as a joint DLC for this and the Harlem Lines, but not included with a base route package for this.

    - Realistically I could see them adding an ACS and M8 for base content, following DTG's pattern of "something borrowed, something new". The M2, M4, M6 units have all been retired for awhile, so unless the route was back-dated these wouldn't be on the line. Owners of the Acela and Harlem could have trains layered in, same for LIRR and NJT trains in NYP (for the Amtrak services that terminate/originate there).

    - While I would love to see the full route between Manhattan and New Haven, given DTG's track record (pun not intended) with cutting passenger and commuter routes short, I think you're more likely to see NYP/GCT to Stamford, with the New Canaan Branch. This is especially so if they're adding in the Hell Gate Line to NYP. To put this into perspective, the Harlem was only about 25 miles (plus the stub of the Hudson up to Yankee Stadium), Providence is about 45 miles (plus the Stoughton Branch), and the LIRR with its branches ends up about 40 or so miles.

    - There is also potential for some freight off the Hell Gate Line and on to the mainline, and it would be great to see the Oak Point Link added in as was done in the TSC content.

    Overall a great suggestion!

This sounds like a great route. Perhaps we could get a New Haven 1940s-50s version with an E33, FL9, EP5, and a few other New Haven locomotives, especially FM or Alco designs, plus freight and passenger equipment.

long line, lots of trains, nice scenery, diverse service patterns, sounds like day one purchase :) anyway, would it have ATC/ACSES or any PTC /safety stuff implementation?

ATC, ACSES, PTC, and Metro-North's cab signalling are all mainstays on this route

This would be a fantastic addition! Although I think it would be better to have the ACS-64 and M8 as base route locomotives. The Acela can be a layer, and the P32 can be a DLC. Since the M2/4/6’s have been retired, it would make more sense if they were added in for a historic timetable dlc. Additionally, the ALP-46, M3, M7, M9, and GP38 can all layer on. Grand Central could also use a little work too, the lighting is pretty messed up, and the lower platforms are completely absent from Harlem Line. Hopefully these updates can make it into this route.
