Well, tbf it was not the Vectron preview stream and I bet my copy of TSW3 that you will be able to use the breaks with shortcuts- but I would like to know what’s up with the AFB confirmation :(

Thank you for posting this video. The Vectron is such an amazing loco; I can’t wait to experience it in TSW.

Some questions - which you may or may not be able to divulge:
Is it fair to assume that the TSW version has fully functional LZB for trips on other routes such as SKA?
Did I hear the “road runner” beep beep to signal that the end of the train had passed the point where the engine was when the button was pressed? Is this modeled in TSW? It’s a favorite feature for me in the 182.
Was an upcoming speed restriction displayed on the speedometer with a blinking cursor?

Thanks for all the work you do for TSW.

Search "Definitive Stutter Fix via engine.ini Settings" in Forum. This method works when you follow the instructions; don't know if it will work in "TSW4" but since no engine or optimization improvements have been made, it most likely will.

It's a shame they scrapped the originally planned intro stream which was to cover "UI, Scoring, Ease of Access & more", it was all glossed over so we could just have Matt's preferred HUD layout.

I was expecting a demonstration of how the scoring is impacted by things like forgetting headlights, not turning on safety systems etc. but the scoring just got switched off at the start! Presumably the zero score for safety systems at the end was because it will show a red negative for not using them, but even Matt didn't know why it was zero. Also very disappointing that he didn't lose any points for when the safety systems slammed the brakes on when he forgot about them, as it means scoring 2.0 is just a 'was the safety system on' score, not a 'did the driver drive safely' score.

Overall I like the mini hud but it takes away a few too many things, if instead of just showing the speed limit it showed current speed with the limit underneath it then that would be better than having to tell what the tiny display inside the cab is showing, or worse if you like to use the external camera the only choices are a huge speed dial or nothing, all I want is a simple digital number. Ideally everything that is currently on the big lower left hud would be selectable as on option to show in a little box at the top.

While I like the little column, I agree with the concerns raised here that the 1km warning may not always be enough, perhaps they could add a marker for the next objective onto the 2km display on the right hand side. It will also be interesting to see whether these indicators turn into 1 and 2 miles for UK and USA routes.

I think that was just Matt making a conscious or subconscious choice to use the mouse instead of the keyboard. The Vectron has keyboard bindings for the AFB Confirm Speed button and Train Brake lever.

If by "fully functioning" you mean of similar standard to other freight locomotives that have LZB simulated in the game, then yes, I think that is "fair to assume" ;).

EDIT: Just to give some context for my hedged answer here. On the real LZB you have to input train data (formation speed limit, braked weight percentage, train length, brake type) so that you get the correct brake curves, maximum speeds and monitoring distance (amongst other things). Currently no locomotive/train has this capability in TSW and we would probably (my guess) have to wait/hope/pray for a "expert line" style ultra realistic DLC for this to become a reality.

On the real Vectron, when you move the AFB speed lever (with AFB enabled) a flashing bug will appear on the speedometer corresponding to the lever position. This is *not* the speed target that AFB acts on. AFB acts only on the solid bug. To make the flashing bug solid you have to press the button on the AFB speed lever knob.

Interestingly, if you enable AFB while the locomotive is running, AFB will not start braking or accelerating toward a speed target. Instead the lever position will be flashing and AFB will be "passive" until you confirm the set speed. On some softwares at least. The Vectron is extremely complex and differs between different software versions and different countries so I can't claim this is true for all versions.

I will leave the "meep meep" question for the preview stream :)

That sounds good! Can you tell us the combination for the AFB confirmation? :D

So unlike British neutral sections, Austrian/German neutral sections require intervention from the driver beyond closing the throttle?

Fantastic. I can’t wait. The Vectron on DRA will be my first run on Sept 21. Thanks!

Yes. There are no magnets that automatically open/close the main circuit breaker. At least as far as I am aware. Some ETCS lines *may* automatically open and close the MCB, but have not heard about this before.

"Shift + R" or "Shift + F" (both do the same thing).

With the night being the issue - definetly might have to grab god mod to prevent this issue.

    That’s because they aren’t Talent 1 sounds, they’re Talent 2 sounds.

The door sounds are prototypical for a 4024, as far as I can tell.

Turning off streaming in Engine.ini and forcing game to use -DX12. Fixes the stuttering problem at least on i5-12600k with 48 gigs of ram and Radeon 6950XT.
