I don't think you get how much work and bandwidth that would take to accomplish.

If they're doing previous years then the route should be completely redone to fit that era otherwise you're going to get a LOT of inaccuracies where track has been ripped up over time. Historical content should be done properly to give it the respect it deserves.

" rambling " is not a word you should use to criticise other people's posts. :D

To answer the what if scenario. I'd keep all three routes but Riviera Line would be set in the 1950's because I'd like to see Brunel's GWR in TSW, the real GWR. Panniers, Manors, Granges, Castles, Kings, the list goes on. A steam era version done properly would provide the ultimate Riviera experience.

EMU fans have plenty of content to play with, it won't hurt them to have a release in a different era. All Aboard have their first route coming and that looks fantastic.

JT are building a great 1980's BR Blue experience, let's leave them to that.

Steam though? We've got four locomotives and two routes. Three of those locomotives are LMS and one LNER, while GWR and Southern have nothing. That's before you even dive into Germany and USA, they don't have any steam traction represented in TSW whatsoever. I've seen plenty of users asking for a Big Boy.

Regardless though, we're going to keep talking about it and we're going to keep requesting historical content. Throwing the same old reasons and statistics about isn't going to change anything, we all know why DTG stick to modern era content but we can still show there's interest in other eras.

Matt himself has said if you want to see anything in TSW then keep talking about it, otherwise there is absolute 0% chance of change. That's what we're doing here, if we stay quiet then nothing will ever change for the better.

You can try and dampen the mood all you want, but that won't stop us.

Not sure what you mean. Mods are available that backdate the Paddington route by changing some textures and item shapes (platform accessories mostly). Not particularly big downloads and I assume not too time consuming or people probably wouldn't have made it a free mod).

DTG could incorporate this technology into the game properly so console users could get it too and it would probably boost sales of retro gameplay packs for example.

Yes obviously it wouldn't be a perfect route, but it would be a lot more fun to run classic diesels on a 80s style route than not at all and since there doesn't seem to be any desire to remake a route in a different time period (people probably wouldn't want to pay in full time for the same route even if some sidings were different) it would be a relatively low cost, easy solution.

Ah yes mods the thing only about 1/3 of the community can actually use since there’s no way in hell the console Companies are letting in game, it already takes over a year for simple addons for transport fever 2 to come to consoles for example,

If DTG wants the most money then they should really fix the core for steam locos and give us a stable build of the game with making it easier to become a third party then everyone wins

it wouldn’t kill the game to pull a tsw 2 again
