I think it would be a good idea to do the Rhonda valley lines from Cardiff Central/Cardiff bay to Treherbert, Aberdare and Merthyr Tydfil via Pontypridd. It would be about a 20 mile route but its about just over an hour. The trains that would be used would be. class 756/231. operating from cardiff central up the valleys class 398. opertating from cardiff bay to pontypridd. class 150/153 operating around the cardiff area. it would be a 2026 timetable. layers in cardiff central would be gwr 800 from riviera line. gwr 150 from rivera line. gwr 166/165 from great western express. xc class 220 from riveria line. tfw class 150/153 from cardiff city network. Depots included. cardiff canton depot with service coming in and out to cardiff velleys and elsewhere. taffs well depot with service in and out to cardiff and up the valleys. requierd power changes needed along the valleys. stations include Cardiff Central / Cardiff Bay Cardiff Queen Street Cathays Llandaf Radyr Taffs Well Trefforest Estate (Note: Trains on the Treherbert branch pass through here but typically do not stop) Trefforest Pontypridd (then the lines split to Treherbert and Merthyr Tydfil/Aberdare) Treherbert line.
