firstly I took the 37 empty coal train to Tees Yard. I then did some marshalling in Tees Yard in the 08. I went over to WSR and ran the 1115 Bishops to Minehead also in the 08 however I didn’t have enough power to even get the train past the first signal!!!

Then I went back to TVL and took the 101 from Saltburn to Darlington before going to MSB and take taking the 146.2 between Heigenbruken and Gemunden.

To help the community challenge I then went to GWR and ran the class 66 Aggregate Industries scenario.

What I’m trying to say is that as the dlc catalogue grows I find I have plenty to do and can still while away the hours

Looking forward now to The NTP freight pack

Yep, it's a great game with plenty to do!
I only own half the DLC but never get bored of the variety. Especially now we have TVL yards and freight.

With regards to the 08 on TVL.... You had the brakes on!
It confused me at first, but you need to release air brake pressure, THEN switch the brakes to VAC and release THAT pressure.
I thought there was problem with power too, but it was just the coaches have vac brakes applied yet the loco has air!
The switch is on the back R/H side of the cab below the window.

Give it a try and watch the Px gauges!

Hopefully that is the case, as it was for me.
It's a great loco to drive on that route. Better than the 09 because it is modelled better and more interactive.

the only thing is on wsr in real life they only have the 09 not the 08. so the 08 has been substituted but not complaining

    That's fair enough.
I wonder why it was added?

Maybe an 08 is a regular visitor to the line?
I have heard there are about 60-70 of them still around, but there can't be many 09s left as they only produced 26!

The 08 appearance on the WSR is the result of a bug, so wasnt really intended to be there. But Matt said that they wont remove it from there.

And the new Heavy Freight has a trophy for 80 miles in the 08 so get going on a WSR while you can

I spotted that and thought the same! Although trophies don't usually bother me, it has made me choose the 08 over the 09 for WSR at the moment.

    Great advice

In theory we could get a trophy for a DLC that's not released yet. 1st one to try gets a gold star ;-)

    Haha!
I don't fancy driving 80 miles of WSR in an 08 after doing 90 and all the services in the 09. It took a lot of filling with other routes until I got all those 09 services completed.

Although I have already done about 20 on TVL so it shouldn't be too hard to achieve!

Did you use PZB and AFB on the 146? Thats half the fun. PS its not a power issue on the 08. Its the brakes as stated earlier.

No, I have given up on PZB completely. I will try and learn it properly at some point but unlike the other safety systems on all the other routes, which I quite enjoy, it takes the fun out of driving the German routes for me
