S45 is a nice route with rapid transit tempo, almost metro-like frequency (every 10 mins both directions), also decent speeds... you see nice portions of the city either above or below you (sometimes you are on historic viaducts, recently repaired, sometimes in tunnels) and it also stops at major hubs like Ottakring, Heiligenstadt or Handelskai... served by 4024/4124 and vintage 4020s S80 goes through some of the southern parts of Vienna, from Hutteldorf it crosses above canal, roads and everything via a very cool rail triangle, then connects to Stammstrecke, follows it a bit and then follows the REX8 corridor up to Aspern Nord... this is a very important line that is getting minor and will be getting major upgrades (removal of level crossings in most places, bringing the speed up to 120-140 km/h on some sections)... served by 4024, CityJet Desiro MLs, occasionally other stock Stammstrecke is pretty much the core route from which other regional and other routes either stem from or are at least connected to... while not exactly fast, rarely going over 80-100 km/h, mostly slower, it boasts brutal frequency, since most S-Bahn and regional services use it all or at least a part... served by pretty much everything except maybe RailJets even those use at least the short belt between Hauptbahnhof and Meidling ... this core route is being gradually upgraded to ETCS, which will increase the frequency of trains on it to like every 2mins or so and increase speeds
Something from the Yugoslavian narrow gauge, which is never going to happen due to all sorts of factors not least the hiatus on steam traction. But something like the route from Mostar to Dubrovnik or Gostivar to Ohrid, the latter where the little 2ft gauge train took 15 hours to travel 170km through spectacular mountain scenery would make my day.
Just posted a suggestion over in the thread dedicated to suggetsions. I'd love to see the '70s/80's era Penn Central commuter line that operated between Grand Central St. in NYC to Brewster, CT. Back then, they ran FL-9s at the heads of amy of those trains and they would need to switch over from 3rd rail electric running to diesel mid-trip. And vice versa.
MY Favorite Route is Metra BNSF Racetrack Chicago To Aurora The Green Line is The Route BNSF Railway Line
Nice suggestion. They do seem to mess up the US routes however we could give them the benefit of the doubt and create this route. I do prefer British routes but that is definitely just my personal preference. The route sounds great and I would most certainly give it a go.
I was maybe 4 years old when I saw a Penn Central take some freight across US 12 in Niles, MI. I'm sure a lot of us were fascinated by trains when young otherwise we wouldn't be here. I was hooked. The route it took from Niles, MI to South Bend, IN has been abandoned for many years. Now living in California and close to retirement I'm re-creating the route from Benton Harbor, MI to South Bend, IN. Being new to TS, the route I'm creating is my favorite. If anyone knows the area and the Michigan Central bridge crossing the St. Joseph river in Niles I just KNOW that one is going to be a challenge to make! I also like the Cajon Pass and Tehachapi Loop
I have never been to America but it sounds like a great idea. The American routes have never been my cup of tea but these routes seem like they would sell quickly to those who want a US route.
Welcome to the home of simulations! This game is incredible for a variety of routes. Message me in private if you need any assistance or need some information about the game, I am always here to help.
I would love to see the whole District Line of the London Underground pre 2016 when the C -69 and the D - 78 where still in service. Big ask as it's 40 miles long and 60 stations
I would love to see some heritage railways in the game, like the SVR and the KWVR. l know they are all fairly short routes, but developers could work on getting the routes to look real. Manchester to Crewe and Metropolitan line, I would also love to see.
That would be a dream of mine along with the Central line. I love the S7 stocks and I think it would be cool to create the experience based on the introduction of the S7 so the D and C stocks would still be available
Metropolitan line would be great. Beautiful mixture of scenery and tunnel sections. It is a very different type of route as it has a mixture of semi- fast and all station trains which is the only line to feature this on the underground. It was the first underground line so a bit of history for a route and the S8 trains are great
Metropolitan Line would be a dream from a Timetable mode perspective; lots of variety and branches, no half journeys, full there and back drives all around an hour long, lots of depot runs. While my personal preference is the District Line, I can understand some might feel the hour and a half end-to-end journey time from Upminster to Richmond/Wimbledon/Ealing Broadway may be a little excessive not to mention quite exhausting with all of those stops.
The district line would be my favourite aswell. I am just desperate for another London Underground route to feature.
The more I think about it, I reckon the Just Trains route may be a TSW version of their TSC Metropolitan Line with S Stock. I'm just speculating but if we had an S-Stock in game, it makes a modern version of the C2C line much more palatable to DTG as they would only need to modify their existing Electrostars/Aventras and add in JT's S-stock to have all the traction needed, leaving more time to build what would be a complex and scenery-heavy network
My dream route is the airedale-wharfedale line. From Leeds to Bradford to ilkley to Skipton. This route has been asked not by me but loads of people. And they all agree. Not only its a good route. Its my local route aswell! Idk how it would get any better! Trains on this route are the class 333. Very iconic because of the look of the front. Reminds everyone of the 332. That's another good thing! You get to re-skin the 333 into a 332 and put it on GWR. It will just be the 4 car version. The other train is the class 331. Either go with the current 3 car or also add a 4 car. This means we can use the 331 in other routes. Now northern already have a license with DTG so it could be possible. I have a couple of photos here to show you guys. This is the 331 in a 4 coach variant. Next is the class 333. Anyways that's it. I really hope it comes to tsw4! We need more northern routes so it would be perfect!
The Metropolitan Line would be an absolute dream. The S8 stock is incredible. Let's hope that your speculation is correct.
York - Newcastle, Sunderland & Middlesborough Intro This section of the ECML (York to Newcastle) is the most popular suggested section of the ECML. There is a lot of options and detail to this section of the ECML. It is one of the most famous rail lines in the world, it is major rail connection for the North of England. I would recommend that you read my York Extension suggestion first: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/ecml-extension-to-york-and-possible-add-ons-for-ecml.80527/ Trains These are the train operating companies that will run on this route: LNER Grand Central CrossCountry TransPennine Express Northern Tyne & Wear Metro *EMR* (This will occasionally run as AI at York for trains to Scarborough & Sheffield if you own Midland Mainline) I have decided not to include Lumo because after Newcastle, it stops nowhere until Stevenage, not even York, which would make Lumo pointless on this suggestion. Amtrak's Auto train from Lorton, VA to Sanford, FL (basically DC to Orlando). It is the only motorail service in the US, carrying passenger's vehicles in autoracks. It is half freight, half passenger, all train. But at 855 miles with only the start and end points with no stops between, not really feasible in TSW.
The Auto Train stops at Florence, South Carolina for a crew change, fuel, and water. However, it is still too far out to be feasible for TSW.
Ah thanks. Have not had opportunity to ride yet but when I learned of it's existence I knew I must ride it.
Bc it is interesting, zooming across west and north yorkshires Dales and go past the iconic 3 and 5 rise locks, not like you can see the five rise locks as its covered in trees. Its perfect!
BELGIAN ROUTE! Kortrijk-Schaarbeek (via Oudenaarde-Zottegem-Denderleeuw) Sadly NMBS/SNCB is not very open about their license so chances this would arrive is not very big! It is deff a busy route with lot of stock variation in any era!
That is a very vast, detailed suggestion. This would be a great route for those who enjoy routes based in the North of England and the Midlands.
I only purchase routes in London but for gamers like yourself it sounds like you all agree that this route is great.
I'd Love to someday see Mannheim-Stuttgart-Ulm with both the Fast, New Routes and the Old ones. Schnellfahrstrecke Mannheim-Stuttgart Bahnstrecke Mannheim - Heidelberg, Bahnstrecke Heidelberg - Heilbronn, Frankenbahn Würzburg - Heilbronn - Stuttgart & Schnellfahrstrecke Wendlingen-Ulm Filstalbahn Stuttgart - Ulm. Also, i personally think the Filstalbahn is a perfect Route for TSW. It has everything, if something that i already suggested will come into tsw (some small branches off the main Route and the Fast and New Route) then im really a happy boi. But ill definitively have to wait a long time till it could be apart of TSW. But i hope it atleast gets noticed
recently watched a video about Erfurt - Nurnberg route, more specifically the Franken Thuringen Express, a variant of classic Desiro HC dosto EMU, but this one is special - it has single-deck cabs on both ends and 4 highspeed dostos in between, and has certified operating speed of 190 kph... and looks super cool (datasheet in here): along with Munchen Nurnberg it is the fastest regional train in Germany
any well done German route is fine by me, and if it has highspeed or 160 kph flavor, then even better
My dream route would be the Inverclyde lines. Glasgow Central to Gourock and Wemyss Bay. Ideally I'd go 80s - before Greenock Central's old station building was demolished and back before they built a new linkspan at Gourock and the old station building was still in good condition. A time when 303s and 311s were the EMUs of choice and there was still a bit of freight, usually a class 26. And there would be more track like the line that ran into James Watt dock at Greenock. Then for AI you could have DMUs or 318s running as far as Paisley Gilmour Street, depending on the year you modelled it. But you know what, I'd take any era since then, even modern day. I did the scenery for the Inverclyde Lines back in the day when Microsoft Train Simulator was going and in order to do research it gave me the excuse to keep popping up to see family. Modern day would see nothing in the way of freight, that's all gone, but you could run railtours as both Gourock and Wemyss Bay have had plenty over the years.
I'll add WCML north to this. We have the 390 coming already, so they could include maybe the class 397 as the base train. Possibly a class 90 as well? It would be a perfect route for the pendolino to stretch out at ~100 miles, and with all the layers at Glasgow central, and driveable stopping services towards Lanark/edinburgh/motherwell it would be an incredible experience
Thank you all for your suggestions. For those who have not posted with a dream route keep them coming.
a slight alteration from what I might have already posted here - as core, it would have Stammstrecke Wien (Floridsdorf - Meidling, plus I would add Sudbahn up till Liesing station) + 2 "branches" - one would be the highspeed corridor to St. Polten via Tullnerfeld which could host ICE-T (and future RailJets and RailJet Express trains), and the other would be S7 up to VIE... some S7 services actually terminate there, RailJets start and terminate there (to Graz, Salzburg and others), and you could have the whole CAT train service (which has a whole lot of possibilites for engaging scenarios, as well as being one of benchmark airport shuttle services) OR Stammstrecke up to Liesing + S2 (Wolkersdorf on one end and Modling on the other lets say) + complete S/REX7 OR again Stammstrecke up to Liesing and then both corridors to Marchegg, set in modern time... ok, calm down calm down... Viennaaaa
I’d say London St Pancras - Corby with the 222 and HST back in the days of EMT. Include Thameslink but during the transition period between the 319s and 700s. Bonus points for 377/7s operating.
North Clyde Line via Bathgate and Airdrie Edinburgh Waverley to Helensburgh Central/Milngavie/Balloch The Route The route includes 49 stations these are as follows: Edinburgh Waverley Haymarket Edinburgh Park Uphall Livingston North Bathgate Armadale Black ridge Caldercruix Drumgelloch Airdrie Coatdyke Coatbridge Sunnyside Blairhill Easterhouse Garrowhill Shettleston Carntyne Bellgrove High Street (Glasgow) Glasgow Queen Street (Low Level) Charing Cross Partick Hyndland ----\ |---------------------\ Anniesland or Jordanhill Westerton or Scotstounhill Drumchapel or Garscadden Drumry or Yoker Singer or Clydebank | -----------------------/ Dalmuir ---------/ Kilpatrick Bowling Dumbarton East Dumbarton Central Dalreoch Cardross Craigendoran Helensburgh Central The Milngavie branch is as follows from Westerton: Bearsden Hillfoot Milngavie The Balloch branch is as follows from Dalreoch: Renton Alexandria Balloch Rolling Stock The main rolling Stock on the North Clyde Line is the Class 334, it has a top speed of 90mph and runs all services between Edinburgh, Helensburgh Central and Milngavie. It can also be seen on Springburn to Milngavie services, and Balloch to Airdrie services, it is also rarely seen on the Argyle Line. The Secondary rolling stock on the North Clyde Line is the Class 320, also with a top speed of 90mph these units only run as far as Airdrie on North Clyde services between Helensburgh and Springburn, Airdrie and Balloch or Milngavie and Springburn. The class 320s can also be found working on the Argyle lines as well as in a pair with a Class 318 unit. And the 3rd train coming as DLC is the Class 318 they too have a max speed of 90mph and closely mirror the class 320 in service patterns, also being found on the Argyle Line and sometimes in a formation with a Class 320. Depots Depots along the route includes: Bathgate LMD Airdrie Siding Yoker Depot My opinion Overall I think this route would be really fun to drive a good balance of countryside scenery and busy city centre traffic, although it's in total around 90 miles long JT has already shown the routes of this length are possible. I think it could be made well put down to a 3rd party such as JT or ATS. (P.S anything but RIVET please.)
I like Scottish routes, tho I gotta add Cathcart and those two loco dlcs to my collection they are kinda like UK ones but sometimes even more chill
