    Hey everyone,
I’ve been playing TSW for a while now and I love the game, but I really feel like Italy is the biggest missing piece of the puzzle right now. We got a tiny bit of it with Tirano in the Berninalinie DLC, but let's be honest, we need a proper standard gauge Italian route. The variety we could get is insane. We could have the Frecciarossa 1000 for high-speed, or some regional stuff like the E.464 (Ex Bombardier)with Vivalto coaches, or even the new Pop (ETR.104(Alstom)) and Rock (ETR.521(Hitachi)) trains. Visually, driving along the coast (like Genoa to La Spezia) or through the mountains would be absolutely stunning and a nice break from the usual German or UK countryside.
I know licensing with Trenitalia / FS is notoriously hard and the SCMT signaling system requires new coding, but if third-party devs can unlock other difficult licenses, surely it's possible for Italy too?
The Italian community is huge and I'm sure players from all over the world would buy an Italian DLC in a heartbeat just for the scenery and the trains.
Are there any plans for this, or are any third-party teams working on it? What route would you guys want to see first? 585418614.jpg 6f5156bf86bf8c8c06bce1baca62dba7d7125aa28e46ec66b1d33606dde13278.jpg Fara_Sabina_-_stazione_ferroviaria_-_elettrotreno_Trenitalia_Rock.jpg normal_DSC_0019-1.jpeg normal_TI_E464_717_Mantova_001.jpg

1 year from now. 2 years maybe ??. Could be 5 years until we see an Italian route. Nobody can answer this sadly.

Never, until someone (probably local) decides to make one. Same applies to any other country.

I would have said never as well, but DTG did make the two Dutch routes on their own so I won't say it's a complete impossibility. Presumably enough Dutch people were already playing TSW to make it worth their time, unfortunately this doesn't seem to be the case for Italy. But there is always the hope with third parties as that is how Czechia, Portugal and Romania got routes.
