Hmmm... in a very basic sense, ReShade is yes... it is adding global bitmapped effects in real time; altering colours, deepening shadows (or lightening them)... blurring jagged edges etc. which is why ReShade shaders can have a negative frame rate impact. RW Enhancer however, overrides some of the game's engine procedures, and substitutes its own... such as occlusion. If you activate Occlusion in RW Enhancer, it disables the occlusion settings in game for example. Using RW Enhancer can actually improve frame rates, depending on how you set it.
I think it's Trent Valley somewhere but setting up a quick drive and looking for it seems like cheating.
Must be Lichfield Trent Valley upper level bit then? And does using google maps to check count as cheating?
not at all. It's all problem solving. I didn't know the last one either, but the fact that it was a station on a level crossing narrowed it down... then the fact that there was a Scotrail 321 in it made me think it may be Glasgow Suburb route... then from there it was a case of tracking it down. It's more fun when you DON'T know in my opinion.
It also wouldn't have helped, as I don't there's a quick drive scenario that uses the high level platform... although it may have made you realise there was one I suppose.. Any way... it's not cheating... it's solving a puzzle.
This should be an easy one hopefully Also to note no one has solved my difficult bonus question from post #70 yet, I'll reveal it if anyone wants to know
You still need to know where to look. It's not as if you can just look at a map of Britain and find it without first narrowing it down by some other means. There are 15,000 miles of track, and just under 2,600 stations in the UK... and this quiz is not even limited to the UK. Without SOME knowledge guiding you in the right direction, looking at a map won't help. All it can do is confirm an idea you must already have.
Lancaster. You know what though... if you want, I think you should go again. Although I recognised the station right away (I'm there often).. you left the station name in on one of the lamps.... ....so anyone would have got this one. In all fairness... Go again. I don't think anyone will object.
I will admit I didn't notice that lamp without zooming in, and at this point I'm dredging out old screenshots on my hard disc that would be suitable. Again quite easy so whoever gets this please post another picture until I get time to take some new ones.
Cosham or Warblington on the PDL unless you are being sneaky and doing non-prototypical rolling stock.
I'll try and get mine done tonight - got the kiddies bath time and bed time to do first. I'm glad all my years of scenario making on the PDL haven't been a complete waste of time...
Arse!.... was just loading up Portsmouth Direct to verify an idea... it wasn't Warblington though. That was a tough one if you don't use the route much.
I have them both, yes... just don't use them much. I have to admit, I have a tendency to stay "oop north" a lot. maybe I need to remedy that.
When i was looking for what was Brockenhurst I found it on PDL and thought it might have been obscure enough
Having looked thru my Track Atlas I'm stumped - tried some of the off the mainline bits but not found it
Clue 1 - it is in London. Clue 2 - in real life it has a canopy shelter. Clue 3 - the locomotive and rolling stock is also a clue.
I thought I had looked thru most of the Island platforms but the location was wrong - in a cutting or on a viaduct I obviously missed one.
Not Morspur Park but you are in the right part of the country. Without giving it a way, Clan Line hauling the British Pullman is a clue not a red herring.
I suppose if you regularly catch trains along it then the allotments are a dead give away. One more clue: the Belmond British Pullman (pre-covid) regularly does a circular through the Surrey Hills. Victoria, Staines, Guildford, Redhill, Victoria. The station is on that route, is within Greater London and it is adjacent to some allotments.
Grrrr... it better bloody not be! I was gonna say that, but it has a canopy... then I just saw his post where he says it has a canopy in real life! Arrrrrgh! I hoe you take this in the best possible way... but I hope you're wrong LOL
Before anybody says not DTG, it is on the North London route. Was thinking of doing Chiswick ot Kew Bridge but they literally had no distinguishing features or scenery, at least North Sheen did. O didn't do SWT rolling stock as I thought that would make it too obvious.
I think we all agreed at some point that non DTG is fine, so long as you say that it is. You can still verify your guesses via photos on the internet.. Google earth etc.
Slightly irritating - my Track Atlas shows the station as being two separate platforms and not an Island.
Don't know the station, but the station name has two words. Both units are 444s so I'm assuming it's SWML not PDL.
