Will A Tsw2 Steam Key Automatically Port Into Tsw3?

There are some cheap keys going at the moment for LGV for TSW2.
If I buy one of these does anyone know if it will automatically port into TSW3?

TSW2 DLC keys will work and port in to TSW3. A TSW2 base game key will not magically turn in to TSW3 however.

 

Any DLC you have in TSW2 will automatically grant you a TSW3 licence for the TSW compatible (ie TSW3) version

 

I'm not sure, but wouldn't you actually need to own TSW2 for this to work?

 

I have TSW2 But unfortunately all the keys have sold out
