This. To suggest even implicitly that DTG are out to shaft only Xbots and favour PC and PS users at their expense is beyond daft

The whole thing is daft. I've given up trying to make sense of it. I haven't seen one credible argument that can justify it. The lack of a sale hurts DTG, hurts Microsoft and hurts players. Everyone loses.

How does a lack of a discount hurt sales?

    That is a new one.

Explain why Xbox generally gets less sales on all of thier games, compared to PS? I have both so I see it, EA games go on sale more with PS than Xbox as an example I have noticed.

The problem is that TSW has more DLC that any other game, I have 109 DLC the most for any game on xbox, asides from MSFS which has its own marketplace in game that they have full control over sales. So you notice more.

Also there is a reason older content does not go for cheaper, because older content is compatable with the new game. So if they reduced all of the TSW 2 DLC people would juat by those and upgrade to the latest version for free.

As for being on Gamepass restricts sales MLB the show is not on GP anymore but we have gotten the exact same number of sales so far as what they had last year when it was on GP.

TSW5 is on Playstation Plus which is their version of GP and they still get more sales than Xbox.

If DTG are able to put on as many sales as they do on Steam they would on the consoles as well. But welcome to the way a closed system works.

BTW Focus is big but not that big it is 52nd on the list of the 80 biggest game publishers. Only the top 20 are considered the elite to MS and Sony. So I highly doubt they have such a friendly relationship.

If memory serves me right last year and the year before there was a sale on DLC for Xbox just before the new version released.

So fingers crossed it will be the samething again.

So let me get this straight: the next time there is a Focus sale, and TSW DLC selection is abysmal, that's on Microsoft according to you?

Yes, because Microsoft control what goes on sale entirely. DTG or Focus have no say whatsoever, as has been explained to you several times already, but unfortunately you cannot seem to understand that.

This is the final time I'm going to say this, because frankly I cannot be bothered to keep explaining the same thing over and over again because you are either; a) too arrogant to listen to what anyone else has to say, b) a Focus/DTG hater or C) someone who'll defend Microsoft no matter what they do.

Fair enough. If this is what you believe, then OK. I believe that Microsoft cannot simply tell someone "your stuff is on sale" and dictate the price, and are doing it instead in agreement with the publisher. So while I understand DTG can't just start a sale out of the blue, they can, when invited, include their products. So whenever Focus is approached, there is a window of opportunity. And I am looking at that window.

Yes, you are absolutely correct, whenever Steam reach out to DTG they put loads of stuff on sale, whenever Sony reaches out DTG also puts loads of stuff on sale, but when Microsoft reaches out DTG just sit there and laugh.

    Yep, definitely how it works.

I mean you are talking about the game that can’t even program more than one save file, so is it really that hard to believe they just don’t care about Xbox players?

Well DTG have been saying the same thing to us since since 2021 so if the are lying kudos to them they have kept the lie up for 4 years without waivering.

Thats a long time to hold a lie and never change your story.

There is no reason they would be losing anything. I do not think most users spend the full price on 3-4 year old DLC, I have a handful of old DLC that I do not own because I do not believe it worth the full price compared to the new dlc due to things like older lighting and graphics settings. If anything the sales bring in more money because it's people actually buying stuff, myself tend to spend about 40$-50$ when things go on sale. Even on Xbox they are always giving 10% off with gamepass unsure if Xbox covers or has a special deal for that for the dev but that's a know lost. I think most users would agree they don't tend to buy new DLC unless it's something they really interested in and most wait for deals because honestly the base game is still bad lol. But that's a different topic. I think most people would point to Ubisoft as an example they go from full price to half price usually within a year or so and by 2-3 years you can usually get the game for 20$. There isn't a reason a dlc that's probably making zero sales is somehow making a lost when there isn't anyone buying it. Especially when they even got rid of the team that was bringing routes up to date. Our problem on Xbox is that dovetail continued response to not having the same deals as PlayStation and PC is on Microsoft. But I think our problem is we are tired of hearing about that excuse when they had years to offer something in exchange or on the side. And like others have also said dovetail is no longer a sole indie dev but a full publisher have there back now to either push back on MS and atleast from what I know nothing have changed or improved by having a publisher.

I honestly don't think they was lying back then but if they still giving that excuse now it definitely feels like a lie. They have a full publisher to push back on MS demands and it seems like it just doesn't happen.

This has always been my worries since the time they took it off gamepass and then basically had a large sale in-between getting added back. I would rather not have the game free and have constant sales than always have 10% off and a free game. Especially since dovetail finally took a good step and been offering free core downloads. I'm honestly surprised Microsoft doesn't worry about possibly losing sales to ps and steam. I can atleast give dovetail the props for including it in cross buy so we can atleast play it on PC as well.
