I also hope that the camera manually attached to the front of the train will stop being knocked down by collisions in the most unexpected places. I'm tired of hanging it back.
My hot takes: Starting this coming Tueday, make the railway the noisy, banging, clanking, rattling place it is in real life instead of the emasculated sound we typically get in TSW. And give us more dirt and grime, more litter etc., rather than the squeaky clean platforms you could eat your lunch off of.
Yes, even the Cucumbers rattle and lurch around particularly if sat over the bogies you feel every little dip or kink in the track. Even CWR becomes a bit uneven over time but TSW rarely reflects this other than the symmetrical rather than random bounce and sway they introduced.
Hot take: 90% of American routes are long and boring to drive. The only one I've rlly enjoyed is long Island rail road.
Yeah, give us more 15 miles UK tram routes with stops every 150 yards, and so that the express train could go full route in 8 minutes.
I don't think it's the locomotive. At least the US routes have difficult terrain and the trains are heavy. There's nothing like that in the UK to create a challenge.
You just don’t understand how much I despise the class 66 both in game and real life, usa/ br 1980 freight for the win
Too many routes, need some more HD space and the hosting companies (well, one of them for now) saying “enough is enough”!
If they could go back and unlink old DLC from the routes they came with, there's a couple of routes I'd like to uninstall. I only got them for the DLC and they are taking up space on my drive. For example, I have no interest in the Crewe-Liverpool route, I only got it dirt cheap in a sale for the wagons so I can use them on WCMLoS.
The German stuff is by far the worst, followed by American freight. Then, as much as I like them, need to be realistic about how often I play NTP or TVL these days but still need the routes and child DLC installed for layers on more recent routes. Even IOW 2022 - easy to get rid of, or is it? We will probably need that to layer in the District Line AI on GWE Remastered, though not a huge loss if not there I suppose.
DTG won't improve the Scenario Planner because they'd be embarrassed by how much better the community efforts are than their own.
While the new Random Events sound good and I don't mean to sound ungrateful: I was hoping for more than just two random events Also sidenote I was playing Salzburg to Rosenheim today and I think it's very underrated.
It’s a good start but so much more potential. Just travel out on the real railway and see the range of minor issues that can quickly snowball into large delays. Going down from Swindon to Bath yesterday afternoon (our Tuesday Cucumber Club outing!) the 1325 got later and later on the CIS screen. Announced as behind the Swansea train then turned up in front of it. Transpires some sort of signalling issue just east of Swindon so possibly track circuit or these days axle counter failure and that train used to examine the line. More likely than DTG’s delay in the signal being cleared which is a bit of a slight on the professionalism of signallers and these days with ARS the computer interlocking would be looking ahead and pulling off. On the return journey, on departure from Chippenham, no details were announced but the driver seemed to be struggling to get the Cucumber switched over from diesel to electric traction so we were bimbling along at 60 instead of the “whoosh” as you get about 2 miles east of the station.
Tell me about it. Saturday got held up on Hull bound service outside Gilberdyke waiting for a delayed Halifax (a not so uncommon occurrence), only for it to turn into trespassing when we reached Ferriby! Which has me thinking: random events will just annoy a lot of people. That train I was on was stuck for half an hour, and all other trains in and out were affected as well. Depending on how these random delays are implemented, it could become more annoying than enjoyable.
