I have to agree that the new section around Hameln is stunning. Probably most interesting route I have seen in a long time across all the sims. Seeing the route being streamlined with a lot of track cutting in stations, old inventory being replaced by modern one.. while enjoying from a cozy run with light empty freight that runs in O mode and with a lot of time in schedule, so no pressure to do any hectic driving.. just occasionally stopping to exchange with passenger trains on the single track.. DGV 69427, can recommend This reimagined in TSW, preferably by Maik, would be so much better as a diesel single track than Maintalbahn..
Well, I did it. Just downloaded ZUSI 3 and installed it from Steam. It runs nicely on a laptop, indeed. And - OMG - this is another world. Wow! So many questions: How do I install all those addons, modules and new sections on the Aerosoft Steam version? Old fashioned `copy the right format file into the right folder´, I supose?! Where do I get them in the first place? How do I access those external 3D cameras? For now I´ve setup an external keyboard and a joystick. But hell, this is a serious piece of a sim and it calls for a raildriver (as soon as the budget permits). Faint memories of my past Project Tupolev flightsim days are getting undusted ... Niiiiice!
There are no addons to install, if you downloaded it through steam, you already have everything in, including the update from two days ago. Everything comes included in the package. 3D cameras are F11 and F12 and like all other keymaps, you find them in Configuration - Input devices.
Did you get it working Vern? It's really nice having a standalone ebula. Also regarding accessing those ebula menus, it's actually a two finger swipe from top left to right on the load screen to get them, not one finger. Well it is on my ipad anyway. Weird apple stuff I guess.
Good to see many taking up Zusi 3, I have long been mentioning it on the forums as something that the TSW devs should have took inspiration from. The slider for irregularities/chaos being one. The Hameln module is great we a getting a huge amount of drivable line in Zusi and its very moreish once fired up. That's the stark contrast to TSW which relies on new 'wow' DLC to keep interest going and once the novelty wears off routes are often left alone both by users and devs. The Zusi Marshbahn is one I can drive endlessly as is the Hamburg bound mainline, can't wait for the Hamburg Hbf module.
Yes it is very good and allows you to ditch the window on the PC screen which in my case seems to have rather large font, the opposite to the usual issue of older programs on 3830 x 2160 where you need a magnifier to see the lettering!
Just watching this vid, and wondering where the written signallers orders come from (at 2:09)? I don't think I've ever seen these pop up. I tried searching for the train number in my Zusi and the Datenbank but can't seem to find that service?
I have had a written order before but for the life of me can’t remember on what route, think it was a line being re-signalled so there was a lot of works going on, it was a fun drive.
Note that Zusidatenbank is not yet updated, it'll take some time for the new timetables in the recent Zusi update to appear. This happens more often than you think, raise the Chaos slider and they'll appear more often. They are even using the correct forms that are era-specific. fakenham This service is probably custom made, it's not from the official timetable. In fact, creating a timetable and putting a train on it is fairly easy in Zusi. 1. Create New Timetable (best to create you own folder in Public or User\Documents\Zusi3Steam\MyTimetables) 2. Select the modules that form your desired route 3. Add trains and give them instructions.
Cheers Spikee, I've just been using the defualt chaos that comes with the timetable in most of my runs at the mo. So I'm guessing they are randomly generated based on chaos probability? If so, awesome.
Is there any English-language summary of the different routes in the game (e.g. time period, location, etc.)? Also, how long does it take for account creation to be approved on forum.zusi.de?
It's all in their names, this timetable contains route Hameln-Hamburg, according to real 2018 timetable, simulating all the trains that move in the area between 13:00 and 22:00. Looks like there should be some planned in this particular new timetable (Hameln-Hamburg), from the timetable description: From 13:12 to 16:27 the main track towards Lehrte in Ehlershausen will be closed for construction work. During this time, all trains in the direction of Lehrte run through the station on Hp 2 (slow), deviating from the timetable. There will also be construction work on the long-distance track between Maschen and Meckelfeld from 12:30 to 14:14. Metronom that stops everywhere in the direction of Hamburg runs extraordinarily on the left-hand track, other passenger trains are routed over freight tracks. DGS 88235 stopped between Lehrte and Sehnde with locomotive damage. That's why S 34325 and DGS 99686 run on the left track from Lehrte to Sehnde with written orders. Almost every timetable also comes with a handpicked selection of trains that are most interesting to play according to the author, it's a good start if you are looking for how to spice things up from everyday runs. You can usually find them in the timetable description under "Interessante Züge zum Einstieg"
They've got a Vectron! Just had a lovely run across from Erfurt to Theurn (it's in folder VDE8) with the 193. It's a high speed line but uses ETCS rather than LZB. The Vectron in Zusi sounds really good, particularly the horn. Not to denigrate the TSW version which I also enjoy but I wonder which one has the more accuarete audio? I really want to understand the route editor but fear it may be a bit above my pay grade. Not helped by the sections in the manual being German only and while I made a start translating with Google, it's a long process, abstracting the accompanying diagrams too from the pdf and suspect where technical sheets are concerned, Google loses something in the translation. Got as far as importing a scaled map in there and laying some straight sections of track, but how to join or extrude tracks or apply gradients looks like a degree in rocket science is needed!
the sound is very realistic My first journey | Driver's cab ride IC141 Berlin-Spandau - Berlin Ostbahnhof | BR 193 Vectron (youtube.com)
I don't think I've ever seen clouds/skies like in this video in my copy of Zusi. They look great. Is this a feature in development or have I been silly and completely missed it in a settings menu or something?
This thread had useful information on cloud textures in Zusi: https://forum.zusi.de/viewtopic.php?t=15353&start=40 So from the little research I did today it appears that there is indeed a skybox feature available in the Zusi 3D editor. The caveat is you have to assign skybox textures for every single route data file (.st3) that a timetable references. A timetable can often have quite a few references. Also, Zusi does not come with skybox textures out of the box, nor does it use the skybox feature in any of its routes. Skybox settings can be found in the Zusi 3d editors route properties: Regarding route data dependencies, the bottom left list box shows all the dependencies for the loaded timetable. These can also be easily retrieved from the timetable xml too, if you feel so inclined: And here's a proof that it works in Zusi (the bright skybox test textures I used is showing that the train is facing south): If you decide to manually edit the route data xml then make sure you also set the "Himmelsmodell" attribute in the Strecke tag accordingly: Code: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!-- stripped down test version --> <Zusi> <Strecke Himmelsmodell="1"> <Skybox> <Skybox0 Dateiname="_Setup\sky\skybox_test_south.dds"/> <Skybox1 Dateiname="_Setup\sky\skybox_test_north.dds"/> <Skybox2 Dateiname="_Setup\sky\skybox_test_top.dds"/> <Skybox3 Dateiname="_Setup\sky\skybox_test_east.dds"/> <Skybox4 Dateiname="_Setup\sky\skybox_test_west.dds"/> <Skybox5 Dateiname="_Setup\sky\skybox_test_bottom.dds"/> </Skybox> <SkyDome> <HimmelTex Dateiname="_Setup\sky\sky.dds"/> <SonneTex Dateiname="_Setup\sky\sun.dds"/> <SonneHorizontTex Dateiname="_Setup\sky\sun_horizon.dds"/> <MondTex Dateiname="_Setup\sky\moon.dds"/> <SternTex Dateiname="_Setup\sky\star.dds"/> </SkyDome> </Strecke> </Zusi> I feel the whole skybox texture change process could be automated somehow since it's all xml data. Who knows, maybe it already exists Update: Borrowed a sky from Loksim3D that works fairly well apart from the top texture which you can't really see anyways in Zusi:
can I find the full manual somewhere? even in German I would like to check the section on how to read Ebula and the schemes regarding approach stuff and such you guys made me so hyped for this
thx, I will check that tho sometime in the past, like a year ago, I managed to find a ZUSI related pdf that had like schemes and charts and explanations of what means what on an Ebula
