Been following this thread and even though I know very little about the route am keen on getting it. Saying that in some of the pics compared to Rivets offerings looked a bit disappointing but I don't think we should totally condemn them as we have had Rivet on here saying they will improve things, I hope they have taken onboard what Londonmidland showed them as it would definitely benefit the route.

The HST has been mentioned and imo would be ideal to add as a layer even in it's current form and why not take advantage of it already being in the game. Has anyone got a pic of the HST as it would of looked back then in the right era? Love to see what it would look like.

I agree with what you’ve said , I’m pretty sure I’m going to buy this but the stream on Friday will be my final decision . I also imagine it’ll cost £24.99

Interesting video, pretty sure this is the Matt that people have been complaining about since the 38 stock stream (didn’t watch that one), in this video he is pretty informative and gives us a good overview of modelling the trains within TSW.

I also get the vibe that Rivet seem pretty invested in the 150, with all the info they are putting out about it which does give me confidence in the unit itself, I’ve seen some complaints about the route (obviously) but personally this DLC for me is all about the 150, it’s really going to bring a side of TSW that we’ve missed, because apart from the 101 we really don’t have any DMU’s and they’re unique in their own way, they bring an experience to TSW in that alot of British Railway was and still is ran by these types of rolling stock.

One observation I do have is how clean the unit is, but then most the trains in TSW are.

Really can’t wait to see more on the 150.

Yes you're correct. That's the Matt everyone was talking about. The design of the Class 150 does look outstanding.

I've found this video on YouTube, Penzance in 1990, A couple of years out but this a good example of the rolling stock seen at the time.

Again not of the period, but from Saturday morning.

Two castle classes (43's) side by side in Truro, and the Falmouth train making an appearance.

Imagine the uproar from the community if the Met-Cam was used on yet ANOTHER route! The Class 117 would be welcome though - could even be used out of Paddington in the 1970's? Lasted on St Ives branch into the mid 90's.

A new first-gen unit would be an awesome loco-add on for the route, for sure.

What surprise, there will be just 2 different ballast wagons for the 37/5 to pull:
Not much else in terms of rolling stock for WCL.

Just remember the rush hour release and there was additional AI. The AI was not announced until 1 week before the release, every chance this could be arranged, though it probably won't...

Honestly I’m surprised we haven’t seen another since the onslaught of Electrostars this year has wiped it from the top spot.

It would be nice if we could get more different Loco's. The 117 would be great but I like the 101 as well. Did the 121 see any action on this line? Loved that DMU.

Weirdly enough, this would actually be a better route to run Deisel Legends on than GWE was!

Not sure I agree. Diesel Legends was supposed to be set in the seventies and going just from Bristol - Paddington there weren't many busier routes for Diesels I would assume. But then DTG only gave us less than a third of the GWE route so perhaps you're right.

We get 2 new freight wagons, so better than 0. Im sure rivet is making this right.

What i ment with surprises is, that we maybe get any 47 or hst layers for the main line. Or few shunting operations like in a class 08.
Wcl brings a new dmu to tsw, and i was impressed of the preview.

Im getting the route because im interested in both the route and rolling stock.

I’m actually fairly optimistic about the route Rivet is developing but I still have concerns about the operational potential. In a post on the PC Discussion section, I showed the Mondays to Fridays train frequency for 1989 which I don't think was very different to the 'early 1990s' in which the route is set. This showed 60 main line services, particularly those operated by HSTs.

    https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...austell-and-st-ives.39102/page-20#post-384914

There will be some on here who know the impact Summer Saturday services had on the railways of Devon and Cornwall until relatively recently. Each year, the summer timetable featured a number of extra trains every Saturday from mid-May to the end of September. In the late 1980s, to/from Penzance, there were no less than 41 London Paddington and inter-regional trains (21 down, 20 up) with services to/from Liverpool Lime Street, Manchester Piccadilly, Swindon, Glasgow Central/Edinburgh, Milton Keynes Central, Swansea, Brighton, Bradford Interchange, Newcastle and Aberdeen. 13 of these trains are shown in the timetable as HSTs with the remainder probably class 47/8s.

I know the route is called ‘West Cornwall Local’ and the emphasis is on the local services, particularly the branch line to St Ives. But, on any day of the week, particularly on a summer Saturday, the main line was busy with trains and there was lots of activity at Penzance with incoming trains being shuttled to and from the carriage sidings for servicing. This was no sleepy backwater.

We will hopefully see more detail of the route and its operations in Friday’s stream but I would like to know how the 'main line' trains are going to be represented without either an HST or a class 47.

37521 was released from rebuild to Thornaby depot on 15 May 1988 at a similar time to 37667 and 37668. All three were additional allocations to support the original 37/5 allocation of 37501- 37520. The three locos were released in Railfreight Metals livery, so the inclusion of 37667 on the Cornish Main line in original Railfreight is a bit odd!

Why does the BR150 have no views from the window? Why is Rivet in trouble all the time? After all, there is a single standard. Will this be fixed? Their absence deprives me of freedom and immersion, there is no desire to continue the journey.

So in another thread you thought the highland Mainline was in England, now you think St. Ives is in Scotland (even though the route is called West Cornwall Local - a region of England). Please tell me you're not being serious.

Cornwall is a country. We in Devon have a sort of Schengen agreement to enter it but they don’t like us to outstay our welcome.

Actually they are sneaky in Cornwall. They let you in for free but you get charged £2 per car to leave!

You need to pay to leave the best county in the world to head in to strange land of England, the £2 is if you are heading into Janner town of Plymouth.

If we could get passport booths on the A30 and A38 we would.... gnarl, gnarl, gnarl.

Surely this would also mean border checks on the railway too? So those slow services you have down there would be subject to two or three hour stops each way!

As the train crosses IKB bridge at 5mph or something silly, there is plenty of time for the checks to be done... :)
