I really like the idea of some interconnected routes. Spawning on foot at King's Cross for example I can go to north to Peterborough , Cambridge or elsewhere for example. The terminal stations are so under-utilised at the moment with the a to b snapshot routes

I agree with you on that one and for that to work both routes must share the common origin point. otherwise you will have the situation Seen in train simulator classic where you cannot merge North Jersey coastline with Northeast Corridor New York Philadelphia and the German equivalent which is Köln Hbf Koblenz with Frankfurt am Main Hbf Koblenz due to them having different origin points

15 months out from this original post , we've had some jiggers pokery with SEHS but it would be interesting to see if there is any movement or steps toward modular routes and networks now.

Are DTG closer to releasing connectable routes?

I wonder if some of the improvements from add-on manager will help? Thinking dynamic loading of tiles etc if that is possible. Extremely keen to see this feature added.

Just Trains have made interconnected routes in TSC. Perhaps they are our best hope in TSW3.

Dovetail just don't have the appetite at top level it seems.

I hope something is moving. I think more noise is always beneficial

Indeed, would be fantastic to have the entire MML, or something like Peterborough to Horsham or Cambridge to Brighton via ECML South, South London Line (plus Thameslink Core) and then obviously London Commuter (plus ECW). Moreover, would also love to see some more routes with New Street and Glasgow Central too.

Whenever DTG are at the concept stage for a new route, they must always think of future DLC/content - thus no standalone routes like LGV (though I do like this route, so would love more TGV).

Sure it all boils down to dev time and pushing content out in a timely manner, doing something like JT's MMl in all its glory would be a massive wedge in dev time without much benefit to DtG short term. Don't get me wrong I'd love to see that network in all its glory in TSWXX.

But isn’t this one of the major criticisms of DTG and their business method, the fact that they churn out DLC upon DLC too frequently and don’t fix underlying bugs ? there should be more dev time imo, this is part of the reasons why we have a partner programme, so it takes more pressure of DTG to churn out content monthly ? i just feel like if they want to deal with some issues they’ll really need to do something about how dlc is released
