I have created this forums for people to express and share their favourite route that would be their dream to feature in TSW4. I personally would love the Central line and I would love to hear your thoughts below.

Personally (although unrealistic massively) it would be:

GEML Liv St to Norwich including Sunshine Coast, Crouch Valley, Braintree and Felixstowe (both Pass. And Fr.) branches.
Locos/units would be: 321 (in GA and ex-NX liveries), 322 (ex-Northern), 90 (both +DVT and FL variants (FL being Tango + Powerhaul like shed)), 66 (lol in FL tango + Powerhaul though), 86 (FL only), 315, 720, 345, 745, 755 and 357 (included for C2C services)

I am biased due to being local to the Crouch valley line so am I really credible to say that?

Not the most feasible but Amtrak's Auto Train from Washington DC to Orlando, FL. It's half passenger, half freight, all train. The Auto Train is a train that you can also carry your car on. So it's a popular way for people to take their car on vacation with them. Would be a super interesting ride. And watch a video of them forming up an Auto Train, it's an intricate dance they do to make those consists.

I probably will stick to my love for Swiss Mainline routes. To me personally, it is a route that hits home very much, so obviously I'd be quite biased towards it.
Anything starting from Zürich Hauptbahnhof would be brilliant, so I either think of Zürich HB to Winterthur or Zürich HB to Basel SBB.
I prefer the 2nd, so that's what I'm going to go with.

To begin with... it is around 75 Kilometers give or take, depending on what site you consult but then there's the Wikipedia page that says it is 65.9 Kilometers long... so I may be looking at two different routes entirely as there is indeed two ways of getting there.
It uses the standard 15 kV/16.7 Hz AC Voltage and ETCS Train System so there will be no arguing with PZB and LZB 24/7. :)
So, to not get confused with where we're going, I'm just going to write down the train stations along the way there.
    Bear with my broken English.

There's much more to the this route that I could rant on for hours, but I think you get the point. Taking you from the Urban Heart Center of Zürich, through several towns, hills and tunnels, to arrive at the Beautiful City of Basel.
It may not be as Scenic as the current RHB routes that we have, but to me the scene isn't necessarily the appeal. It is the Busy operations and varied Train stock that is exciting. It's also a route that many already existing trains could be used on. What will be focused on is the Newer Rolling stock that will be added to the game.

    The SLM Re 460
    IC2000.jpg
    • Manufacturer: SLM/FIG
    • Built: 1991 - 1996
    • Maximum Speed: 200 km/h(Why would you need more than that?)
    • Length: 18,500 mm
    • Width: 3,000 mm
    • Height: 4,310 mm(Definitely above 6 foot.)
    • Weight: 84 tons
    • Axis: Bo'Bo'
    • !Usual Rolling Stock:IC2000/Ew_IV
For something built in the 90s, The SLM Re 460 still solidifies it's place as being part of the backbone that holds SBB up. Guaranteed if you have taken the train in Switzerland, you would've seen at least one of them.
"An important basic building block for the development of the Re 460 was the Re 456 , developed by SLM and BBC , which was delivered to private railways from 1987. The locomotives, which were externally similar to the Re 4/4 IV , were the first converter locomotives in Switzerland to work with GTO thyristors and three-phase asynchronous motors . From 1989, a further development of the Re 456 with a new design was also used by the SBB, as the Re 450 . Parts of the electrical equipment of the Re 456/450 formed the technical basis of the 2000 locomotive."
    https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/SBB_Re_460
    Speaking of the Re 450...

    The SBB Re 450!
    DPZ.jpg
    • Manufacturer: SLM/ABB/SIG
    • Built: 1989 - 1997
    • Maximum Speed: 130 km/h
    • Length: 18,400 mm
    • Height: 4,500 mm
    • Width: 2,980 mm
    • Weight: 74 Tons
    • Axis: Bo'Bo'
    • !Usual Rolling Stock: Itself.
It may not be the prettiest train in the SBB Fleet, but it certainly gets the job done. Being that it is a Doppelstock Pendelzug or DPZ for short, it is often used in high traffic S-Bahn routes and the first of it's kind within the SBB.
"Between 1989 and 1997 a total of 115 Re 450s were built by SLM / ABB . The first series of 24 locomotives was ordered under the designation Re 4/4 V (10500 - 10523), but upon delivery it already had the new designation Re 4/4 450 (450 000 - 450 023), which was also the name of the second series 26 machines (450 024 – 450 049) were delivered. In the meantime, the SBB changed the series and operating numbers again, and the locomotives received their series designation Re 450, which is still valid today . Due to the high capacity utilization of the SLM due to the construction of the SBB Re 460 , which started on a large scale in 1992, the 45 locomotive bodies of the third series (450 050 - 450 094) were delivered by Schindler Waggon (SWP/SWG) from the Pratteln plant. The fourth and final series of another 20 machines (450 095 - 450 114) will be delivered from 1996 - after delivery of the Re 460 has been completed . These machines will again be built with SLM locomotive bodies, while ABB Verkehrstechnik, now under the name Adtranz , will once again supply the electrical equipment."

    The Stadler KISS/RABe 511
    IR-Dosto.jpg
    • Manufacturer: Stadler
    • Built: 2010 - 2012/2015 - 2016
    • Maximum Speed: 160 km/h
    • Length: 150,000mm 6-Wagon/100,360mm 4-Wagon
    • Height: 4,595mm
    • Width: 2,800mm
    • Weight: 297 tons 6-Wagon/211.9 tons 4-Wagon
    • Axis: Bo'Bo'+2'2'+2'2'+2'2'+2'2'+Bo'Bo' 6-Wagon/Bo'Bo'+2'2'+2'2'+Bo'Bo' 4-Wagon
    • !Usual Rolling Stock: Itself.
Used by both the Zürich S-Bahn and InterRegio Service, they are part of popular the Stadler KISS platform. They do not necessarily stick out, but they are quick and more than capable of bringing someone from A to B in time.
"The development of the RABe 511 began when the SBB placed the contract with Stadler on June 27, 2008 for the construction of the third generation of double-decker trains for the Zurich S-Bahn. The contract covered the delivery of a total of 50 six-car trains from 2011. Compared to previous generations, such as the SBB RABe 514 , they are characterized primarily by a higher number of standing places per car, among other things because there are fewer driver's cabs due to the longer trains. 15 centimeters of width were also gained by placing the air ducts under the ceiling instead of in the side; The headroom is still two meters because friction stir-welded extruded aluminum profiles are used as floor panels. The number of seats, however, has decreased slightly compared to the previous models. Comfort features such as low-floor entrances , vehicle air conditioning and vacuum toilets (two, one of which is wheelchair accessible) are still available. There are also two multifunctional areas with storage space for strollers, bicycles and the like. The six-car trainset consists of two power cars and four middle cars. All axles in the power cars are driven."

    The Bombardier RABe/RABDe 502(3 Variants)
    fv-dosto-2.jpg
    • Manufacturer: Bombardier
    • Built: 2013 - Current
    • Maximum Speed: 200 km/h
    • Length: 200,600 mm IC200&IR200/101,000 mm IR100
    • Height: 4,590 mm
    • Width: 2,800 mm
    • Weight: 453 tons IC200&IR200/??? tons IR100
The SBB RABDe 502 for InterCity and the SBB RABe 502 for InterRegio traffic are double-decker multiple units for long-distance traffic of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) manufactured by Bombardier Transportation . The trains known as FV-Dosto (SBB), TWINDEXX Express (Bombardier) or TWINDEXX Swiss Express (Bombardier) is are based on the Bombardier Twindexx platform, which also includes the Twindexx Vario . The first trains should have been delivered to the SBB from 2013. After more than four years of delay, they were gradually used from 2018. There are variants with lengths of 100 and 200 meters that can be coupled to form longer trains.

So, as for everything else in the fleet, it works too. From the ICNs, The pendolinos and Girunos, those apply too.
The route could have a GIANT amount of layers to the point it might have some performance issues.
For freight, we already have the Vectron and the TRAXX that only need a new livery and ETCS equipment.
The ICE 1 can be applied too, with the same ETCS treatment... if you'd like to really push it, the TGV Duplex only needs some modification to be turned into a Lyria. Nonetheless, everything above will probably remain a dream.

Though since there's the Editor, someone might get around to making it, or I might make it in the future if I ever get a PC. It'd be a pretty fun community project.

I love to see the extended versions of MTA's LIRR with 16 additional stations & miles: NYC & Bethpage [including the entire PWB east of Woodside], and Harlem line to Southeast. LU's Northern, Central or Metro line. The NYCS: L, J/Z or 7.

The Calder Valley line- Leeds to Manchester Victoria via Halifax no this isn't ntp which is already ingame. (49.63 miles)
This route is beautiful and isn't even in train simulator.
ignore the section between burnley and blackpool that is part of the east lancs line.

On this route you would have the class 195 'civity' and class 158 which is already ingame but needs the northern livery of course.
Class 195 near sowerby bridge ^
    [IMG]
Class 158 at Hebden bridge with the signal box behind ^
A class 150 could be used as a layer for local services between Bradford and Brighouse and Manchester Victoria and Rochdale/Todmorden.
For those interested the top speed is 90mph which you get to at points between Rochdale and Manchester Victoria.

    Services- Class 195:
    Leeds to Chester 1tph
    Leeds to Manchester Victoria 1tph
    York to Blackpool North 1tph
    Class 158:
(Sunday service only) Leeds to Brighouse 1tph
    Halifax to Hull 1tph
    Leeds to Wigan Wallgate 1tph
    Class 150:
    Bradford interchange to Huddersfield 1tph
Rochdale to Blackburn via Bolton 1tph
Rochdale to Clitheroe via Bolton 1tph
Rochdale to Blackburn via Burnley manchester road 1tph
    Blackburn to Headbolt lane 1tph

It would be very nice to finally get a diesel commuter line

    West Highland Line
    https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...william-mallaig-does-it-get-any-better.43171/

Hello! Today I am suggesting one of my all time favourite routes. The West Highland Line. This is the south section of the line from Glasgow Queen Street to Crianlarich with a branch line to Helensbrugh Central. I think this should come as a base route with extensions being used in the future to make the entire west Highland line.

The trains that will feture in this route are 2 trains!

The Class 156 (Best DMU ever!)

    The Class 334
    upload_2024-2-2_6-49-2.png

This massive and scenic route has 39 miles and from Glasgow to Crianlarich it takes about 1 hour 50 mins! The longest service available in Train Sim World! If your not up for the long haul then you can operate a class 334 on the branch line to Helensbrugh Central. This route has endless opportunities for scenarios and it would be an amazing and the most scenic route to come to Train Sim World. This route has been heavily requested by players to I hope it gets noticed and gets made. If this route does get made, I hope for future extensions along the line to Oban, Fort William and Potentially Mallaig. The class 156 can also run a regular service to Annisland along the route. On this large and epic route it has many stations and calling points. These are: (Stations in bold show stations that trains on the West Highland line stop at.)

    Partick

    Fetures:
    Working Anouncements
    Working Train FX Pannel
    Working GSMR
    Realistic Sounds
    Working Gaurds Pannels
    Smart P.I.S

    Scenarios:
    To the mountains and back!
Drive a Class 156 non stop to Crianlarich. Couple up to a unit at the station and the drive back to Glasgow Queen Street.

    Landfall
Drive a Class 156 to Oban as far as Ardlui due to a landslide up ahead. Contact the signaler for advice and then drive back to Glasgow Queen Street.

    Running Round the Mountains
Drive a Class 156 from Crienlarich to Dumbarton Central and Back due to Glasgow Queen Street being closed.

    And away we go!
Drive a Class 156 non stop to Anniesland before returning to Glasgow Queen Street, coupling up and driving it to Crianlarich.

    To the Center!
Drive a Class 334 non stop to Helensbrugh Central.

    Mountain Rescue
Drive a Class 156 from Glasgow Queen Street to Ardlui where a train has broken down. Then drive it back as a passager service to Glasgow Queen Street.

This is an amazing route and I hope to see it in the game. Layers can Include the Class 385 operating services to Alloa and Edinburgh But players would not be able to drive these services. Thank you for reading my suggestion. I hope you liked it and I really hope it gets made so more people can enjoy the route.

I am familiar with C2C. I would love for it to be remastered in TSW4. Any particular route?

I like the effort you have put into this suggestion. I have seen people have complained a lot about the quality so if you are a fan of Scottish routes then I hope you get what you want.

I appreciate the effort and attention you have put into this suggestion. You should create a thread and put your suggestion there as it is incredibly popular and it would gain more popularity than my thread.

I really like the range of trains on this route. It would be great for a base route in a possible TSW5.

Thank toy all for your highly detailed responses. It has given me an insight on certain routes and I recommend creating your own forums page to share your views as it may have more popularity and people can express their views on the particular route. Please continue to share your suggestions. I have really enjoyed reading them. Even if you have already posted, I would love to hear more from you.

The thing is, someone I believe long ago already had suggested this route. They even went through the effort of marking down each station coordinate. Not sure if they are still on this forum, however I believe it was called Bözbergstrecke. :)

Bremen Oldenburg Leer Groningen 173 km
Duisburg Oberhausen Emmerich am Rhein Zevenaar Arnhem Utrecht 156km in reality this would become Hollandstrecke Duisburg/Bochum Utrecht HDBU. Basically merging itself with the HRR
    United States
    IND Queens Boulevard

I'll leave a clue for my route, era and rolling stock.

Would be equally happy with GEML to Ipswich & Clacton or the District Line. The three lines I've commuted on.

It wouldn't made to Norwich only up to Ipswich and we most likely will only get the short branch to Colchester Town.for the trains we would most likely only get one train not like 10

Interesting! I love how you wrote about multiple countries as people from across the world get to express their thoughts and get their local line.

Two of the routes I want are my local lines. The other is just beautiful. (West highland line being the beautiful one)

I would love the district line. It is incredible route with scenery and it would offer such variation. It includes the S7 train stocks and it is a sub- surface tube line rather than a deep level one.

I would most certainly take it to Ipswich. I would love another London Terminal.

I am glad you both like the idea of this suggestion. I have researched the route and does not seem to unrealistic for a train simulation game.
