The reason why I'm wondering this is because in the preview stream for SFS Nurnberg, something along the lines of "Each carriage in the ICE 4 is different" as well as It's lowkey out-of-scope/budget for TSG to produce. Also, a TSG member said on the discord sometime ago that, they (themselves) personally aren't working on an ICE4

So, an ICE4 is most likely either going to be a DTG Production or TSG/a different 3rd party assisting with it but not the predominant producer.

However, there was no recent mention of such challenges for a Velaro train.

What do you guys think? Are we more likely to see a Velaro before an ICE4?

But which one would you want to see? We have two different classes.

ICE 3 neo. Preferably with TVM430, (and a cheeky Dutch ATB). But if it was to come to a route like Koln Frankfurt, there's no saying on how far DTG will go with safety system implementation.

ICE is not TSW 7 or other, ICE is on a lake or river in the winter

If you want to use it in France or on HS1, you should be wishing for the 407 instead. ICE 3neos are not equipped with TVM.

While i believe the ICE 4 is far more likely to be released first, i wouldnt bet money on it.

For all we know the ICE 4 is the far most requested train overall with multiple recent mentions of it for example being:

    - TSPs TSW 6 Leipzig Preview with DTG Lukas talking about it being difficult but not impossible to make and that nearly everyone at DTG knows about the amount of requests for this train.
    - TSPs Charity stream december 2025 with DTG Matt saying they heard the community much requesting the ICE 4 but obviously nothing to announce.
    - Multiple acknowledgements in Roadmap streams after TSW 6 launch, which is weird given they usually just ignore these questions.

Obviously none of this means it will come this year or next etc. but the amount of talk about it by developers has noticeably increased since TSW 6 launch. Maybe coincidence, maybe not.

They also directly acknowledged the high requests for an actual RailJet when answering leftover questions from a Q&A for Semmeringbahn, but so far nothing to be seen. Doesn't mean that it won't come, maybe TSW7 will surprise us...

Without shouting things with full conviction or claiming that it’s definitely going to happen… I think DTG can hardly avoid this request anymore. The demand for the ICE 4 is so incredibly high that it’s almost impossible to keep ignoring it. And then the question becomes: when

Well, that will likely be tied to a new game version coming out, and you can wonder whether not doing it for yet another year is realistic, considering how big the demand is. You can fill in the possible outcomes yourself…

On top of that, you can use the ICE 4 on almost all German routes, so in terms of gameplay you can safely say it would be a success if they brought it to TSW and alsp the sales would basically a no brainer.

the ICE4, from my experience, seems to be utilised all over germany, whereas the velaro doesn’t seem to cover everywhere. either will do though, as long as one of them happens

The ICE 4 is indeed the largest ICE fleet in Germany, with multiple sub‑variants and train lengths. It forms the backbone of long‑distance operations and covers around 80% of the entire ICE service network. The ICE 3 Neo (8000 series) is still being delivered by Siemens and the fleet is not yet complete. The older ICE 3 Velaro (BR 407) is a much smaller group in comparison. Services to and from France are operated by SNCF using the TGV Euroduplex, and by DB using the Velaro ICE 3.

    Totally agree on that.

Especially for the gameplay its important as most 2018+ routes we have just dont feel right without the ICE 4 or in other words arent very noticeble to be actually set in that year.
For example Frankfurt Hbf looks like it could be set around 2010 with all the 401 replacing 412 formations.
The most recent example is SFS Nürnberg-Ingolstadt.

So DTG is not only doing this for the players but for the overall appeal of future route releases and this years core release.

None. They will use more ICE 1 and 3.

It would be nice to see something different. Anything with the ICE 4 would be good. When it comes to German content though the top of the list for me is a Berlin route more than anything else.

There's obviously been a slowdown in German routes, but what's worrying is the reduction in new German rolling stock - the core TSW6 route not coming with a new train was perhaps a red flag. We have a lot of DB stock, and a good range, it feels like a lot of it's going the way of the Dostos - as we have a close-enough train, there's less need to make specific variations.

For that reason I think a 407 or 408 is less likely than an ICE4, but I just hope the core German TSW7 route (if there is one), comes with something new.

I'm think that the next german route coming for the next TSW can or would be Wurzburg - Nürnberg (with Br 440 standard edition) & Br 412 (ICE 4 in deluxe) with 12,13 coaches

A few people seem sure that it's Wurzburg - Nürnberg coming, is there any solid basis for this? Personally I think it'd be an OK but slightly underwhelming choice.

Würzburg - Nuremberg would complete a longer route from Kassel to Ingolstadt, but personally for a route advertised and delivered with TSW7 itself, there are better choices available. Safe to say a choice has already been made, we'll see what it is in 10 days.

It coming from the article on the Nürnberg- Ingolstadt DTG say something interesting about this route the route hoping could be coming soon on this route,so and ALBS say in the video from TSCY that DTG wants to make different route and make a network in tsw in self not different route in different region of a country . So it is why this route can and could be also coming for the next TSW 103 km long many station connexion with the S bahn of Nürnberg with Talent 2 in 3 & 5 coaches ,and Br 440 in 3 and 5 coaches ,and it is a interesting opportunity to also add or bring a ICE 4 Br 412 in tsw

Talking about better choices for a core route, we know at the start of TSW 6 Lukas mentioned they had found a doable route in Berlin to be a core route contender.
Knowing DTG they would probably do what sells best and what could sell better than germanys capital city?

My personal guess still goes with Berlin Hbf (Tief) to Luth. Wittenberg. Throw in the 412 as deluxe, a 481 (idk if its the correct one for that line) and an updated 112 with dostos.

Lines S25/S26 could run cropped from Teltow-Stadt to let's say Nordbahnhof. 28 minutes across 15 stations, would branch off the mainline after Lichterfelde-Süd on the southern end for 1 station and after Yorckstraße on the northern end for 6 stations. S1 could also be driven from Nordbahnhof until Anhalter Bahnhof, or Yorckstraße (Großgörschenstraße) if the seperate platform is worth it. Class 481/-2 does run there, yes.

Not the best choice I'd argue. Or the S-Bahn would be worthy of its own extensive route, whether that's a job for Dovetail after dumping Gen 8 hardware is up to them. I'd love any full lines. Ringbahn or Stadtbahn, S9 would be my favourite pick, though unlikely as it runs straight through the heart of the city.
