This German diesel classic would be awesome loco for Hamburg-Lübeck route. (I don't know is this loco used to run between Hamburg-Lübeck, but in TS20xx version of same route, there's scenarios for this loco.) In TSW2 this loco would substitute BR112 on some RB services. It would also add some scenarios.
Is this loco really announced for TSW2? I haven't seen anything yet about it and it's not on the roadmap. Where you saw this announcement?
I'd love to see the 218, as it's one of my favourite diesel locomotives. I'd love to see it here, but there are a few other suggested routes on which I think it would be more fun and a better fit. For example Jo_Kim's suggestion for the Marschbahn between Husum and Westerland (Sylt), where the 218 hauls not only Intercities, but also car ferry trains. That suggestion also has some other fun diesels like the BR 245 and BR 251. Another good route would be drnicktgm's Eifelbahn suggestion, on which the 218 hauls RE services with n-Wagen. This route also sees some interesting DMU action. Of course I have no problem with having the 218 on Hamburg-Lübeck, but I think a full-on diesel route would be a better place for it.
I was just thinking i would like a 218 in game. A GM diesel loco would be fun too ( as operated in Belgium, Luxemburg, Scandinavia) But as we currently have none of these routes the 218 would be an instant buy.
Excellent idea and there is a proposal for the Puttgarden-Lübeck by fellow Community member anas.hera. Your DB BR218 suggestion for Hamburg-Lübeck can be merged with their to have the entire German portion of the birds flight line playable. That means if both routes became a bundle called Bird Flight Line the player can operate DB BR101 from HRR with IC Coaches to Lübeck where the player can shunt the DB BR101 for DB BR218 from Lübeck to Puttgarden. Option 2 is that the train is operated by DB BR218 from Hamburg to Puttgarden.
The DB BR218 pulling the HRR IC Coaches with the Missing Cab Car that wasn't added with HRR DB BR101 IC Train. DB BR218 has the Blue Paint instead of the Traffic Red DB Paint. Regarding the DB BR218 Traffic Red Paint, it's what you predominantly find on a Marklin Model Railway Catalog in these scales Z Scale 1:220 HO 1:87 & 1 Gauge 1:32. One of those trains was a Main Spessart Bahn DB BR146.2 pulling the correct Dostos for Hamburg to Lubeck.
