Hello Everyone, Today I propose an Extension for the Upcoming Brighton Main Line. The 9 Mile Extension to London Bridge.

    Stations
    London Bridge
    [IMG]

    The Station Concourse in 2018
Let's start of with London Bridge. London Bridge opened in 1836 as part of the London and East Croydon Railway and of course, is Still open till This Day, going through a few constructions/upgrades. It is the Terminus for most of the Southern "Metro" Services and is also served by Thameslink and Southeastern Services.
The Station Layout of London Bridge in 2018
As seen on this Picture, Platforms 10 to 15 are served by Southern Services, while Platforms 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 are served by Southeastern Services, leaving Platform 4 and 5 being served by Thameslink Services.

    New Cross Gate
    [IMG]

The New Cross Gate Station Building
    [IMG]
Class 378150 at New Cross Gate
New Cross Gate also opened in 1836, also being part of the London and East Croydon Railway and has 5 Platforms and is served by the London Overground and of course, Southern. There were plans for the London Jubilee Line to terminate here, but were Cancelled.

    Sydenham
    [IMG]
    Class 455925 at Sydenham
    [IMG]
    The Sydenham Railway Bridge
Sydenham is a 2 Platform Station, served by the Overground and Southern. This is where some Southern Services from London Bridge go on the Crystal Palace Line and head towards London Victoria.

    Norwood Junction
    [IMG]

Class 377125 entering Norwood Junction next to a former Class 455
    [IMG]
    A Class 377 at Platform 4

Norwood Junction is the last Station on the Extension and also links some Services from the Crystal Palace Line from London Victoria towards West Croydon. It is Served by the London Overground, Southern and Thameslink. The Station has 7 Platforms, only 6 of them being in use.

    Rolling Stock
Now time for the Rolling Stock that i propose for this Extension.

    Class 455/8
    [IMG]

    Class 455816 at Clapham Junction
The Class 455 was built by BREL in York and put in service in 1983 and is Still in Operation on this Day. The Class 455 was built for the Old British Rail, NSE, Connex, SWT (SWR) and Southern. The SWT 455's are planned to be replaced by the new Class 701's once they are put in Service.

    Class 377
    [IMG]

    Class 377106 at West Croydon
Of course we can't forget the Class 377 since it's also used for Services along the London Bridge Line that link up with the BML. Atleast try to add the 377/1 or the 377/3 Units. That would give a more Varity of Electrostars, unlike a Class 377/4 and a 375/9

    Services
There are quite a few Services on the London Bridge Line that i will now show.
Bold = On the London Bridge Line
    Normal = On the BML
Italic = Not on the London Bridge Line nor the BML.

London Bridge to London Victoria via Sydenham
Calling at: New Cross Gate, Brockley, Honor Oak Park, Forest Hill, Sydenham, Crystal Palace
    (Continuing to London Victoria (below))
    (2tph) [Class 377]

London Victoria to London Bridge via Gipsy Hill
Calling at: Battersea Park, Clapham Junction, Wandsworth Common, Balham, Streatham Hill, West Norwood, Gipsy Hill, Crystal Palace
    (Continuing to London Bridge (above))
    (2tph) [Class 377]

London Bridge to Coulsdon Town via Sydenham
Calling at: New Cross Gate, Brockley, Honor Oak Park, Forest Hill, Sydenham, Penge West, Anerley, Norwood Junction, East Croydon, South Croydon, Purley Oaks, Purley, Reedham (2tph) [Class 455]

London Bridge to Caterham and Tattenham Corner
Calling at: East Croydon, South Croydon, Purley Oaks, Purley

Caterham Portion: Kenley, Whyteleafe, Whyteleafe South
Tattenham Corner Portion: Reedham, Coulsdon Town, Woodmansterne, Chipstead, Kingswood, Tadworth

    (2tph) [Class 377]

    DLC's
    Now for the DLC's i will include 2 DLC's.

    Class 700
More Information about the Class 700

The Class 700 can operate the Bedford to Gatwick Airport Service between London Bridge and Norwood Junction (continuing on the BML) aswell as a few other Services.

    Class 378
    [IMG]

    Class 378155 at Wandsworth Road
The Class 378 is a EMU built by Bombardier as part of the Electrostar Family for the London Overground. It operates across the entirety of the Overground Network. The Class 378 can run between New Cross Gate and Norwood Junction.

    Conclusion
This is the end of the Suggestion, feel free to comment on this Post.

Dovetail have said many times now that they are not going to do route extensions.

As Javelin said , route extensions are not likely in the near future

Not likely in the near future and why not make a class 377/5 377/2 standard for the route this actually forms a portion of Brighton to Peterborough Cambridge Bedford services

A great suggestion, would love this! But as others have said, it's highly unlikely to be a route extension of Brighton Main Line but London/Bridge could form the basis of another Southern route, perhaps around the release of the later expected 455 (hopefully) for Southern's metro services. Or, even a Southeastern route to perhaps Charing Cross (375s, 465s etc). Either way, any London Bridge route would fit greatly for Southern, Southeastern or even potentially future Thameslink layers if they get the licence. The upcoming Brighton Main Line opens up many exciting opportunities that's for sure!

As cloudyskies21 says, I think this would be better as a basis for another route, like South London Network, for an example.

Yeah it's just murder trying to figure out the service patterns, and set up the station list. And work out route Lengths etc.
