Quite a simple poll today, what new country would you like to see next in TSW?

Please provide an actual route in that country too if possible.

The dutch routes I's like to see added (and I've suggested) are:

    • My Den Haag - Breda suggestion,
      • with the NS E186 (and maybe a privately owned one for freight) and SLT being standard
      • the NS FLIRT being DLC
However, any Dutch NS route would be great! :)

In addition to that seeing Austria (like the Arlbergbahn) or more of Switzerland (Basel SBB - Bern) which is already in game with Arosa but really needs a part of the main railway network, would be great.

Lastly Scandinavian countries, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Czech Republic and more of France could all be great and really interesting!

Belgium :) I would love to see some Belgian Routes. It would be great to see the wonderful stations of Antwerpen-Centraal and Liege Guillemins recreated in the game

Austria because it has the same PZB LZB & Sifa as the German routes in game. some lines have mountain railway characteristics like the Arlberg Brenner Tauern & Südbahn. On the other hand if you are looking for High Speed line with Freight Shunting Yard and S-Bahn services then the Westbahn Salzburg Vienna my suggestion.

And I think DTG has done an Austrian route for TS, so they maybe still have the ÖBB license, the research done as well as we already have the Taurus loco, PZB & LZB. I think we might see an Austrian route at some point in TSW.

For TS that was the Semmeringbahn part of the Austrian Südbahn which was a third party route by RSSLO.

I'm pretty sure there are at least two versions of the Semmeringbahn in TS. One by DTG, one by RSSLO. I don't think these are the same.

Considering I'm Dutch, obviously I'd love to see a Dutch route (my own suggestion in my forum signature :P ).

But I'd be happy with any new country, although I fear Ireland wouldn't really add much. I'm not familiar with Irish railroads, but somehow I have the impression an Irish route would feel very UK-ish, similar how Canada looks a lot like US in my experience.

And so far we've only seen modern high speed routes for China in Train Simulator, that wouldn't be my preference either.

Japan would be awesome, and Spain could potentially be interesting (depending on the route chosen). But the Netherlands would be the most awesome thing ever.

    I voted for Japan.

I'd love to see JR East, more specifically, the Yamanote Line. It's a 21.4 mile, 30 station circle line encompassing stations such as; Tokyo, Ueno, Shinjuku & Shinagawa.

My vote for other is a vote for Austria. Scenic landscape with the Alps as background. Impressive freight trains (the so called ROLA), Railjets and Nightjets with the newest versions of the Tauruses.

I would love to see Portugal or Norway. Portugal has the Douro Valley line which is beautiful and has the class 20’s Portuguese cousins, the 1400s, which are absolutely hellfire, and Norway has some lovely mountainous terrain

Good Luck with the Yamanote - that'll be a real system killer as well as probably finishing off whoever has to timetable it.

Enjoy this Timelapse of *Some* of the traffic during the morning rush

It'll also feel very empty without the Parallel routes (Saikyo Line on the West side and the cross platform running Kehin-Tohoku Line on the East side) - Also wonder if DTG would be able to license Astro Boy for Takadanobaba

That is crazy, way too much for even DTG’s Rush Hour, IMO.

I would like to see Spain. It is one of the countries with the most high-speed kilometers in the world, and others, dtg could reuse files (such as ice 3 or ouigo) ..... which it likes a lot ...

I personally want an Austrian route, anywhere along the westbahn for a chance to drive the railjet. But I’d definitely support a japanese or dutch route too.

I agree with you on that one and if you are wondering check my signature for the Westbahn Salzburg Wien Hbf. Bonus for that route is that it gives HMA the 20:43 Railjet to Augsburg Hbf 21:13

The Yamanote line, along with the parallel routes*, has been already reproduced in "Densha de GO!" :)

The latest version is available on PS4:

I also played the PC version:

And if you think about it, it's not that different from TSW2 - also an arcade game, but without bugs ;)

*) Apparently, nobody has done the "reality check" at TAITO so they don't know that adding running AI trains just to make a short section of track appear busy is completely unrealistic ;)

Densha De Go is more of a pre scripted thing, like TS scenarios where the AI spawns and despawns at pre-determined points rather then trying to simulate the full 24hr service, the whole having 50+ trains being simulated at any given moment is what I fear will cause the issue, especially on the Xbone/PS4 base models - Might be good for a future TSW3 that is PS5/XbX/PC exclusive though (I don't see that happening for a while, given the current issues with obtaining next gen consoles/pc hardware).

I wonder if one of the arcade clubs has bought a machine over? If not I guess a trip to Akihabara in 2022/3 beckons :)

Mountains and scenic routes are lacking so hopefully Austria. Routes like the Tauernbahn or Semmeringbahn would really bring something fresh. The rolling stock is lovely too... tauruses and vectrons everywhere, and many older locos still in use.

I agree with you and for the Tauernbahn Railjet services come from the Westbahn from Wien Hbf which is shared by Semmeringbahn part of the Südbahn Railjet services.

The Konkan railway is so incredibly beautiful, busy, has so much DLC potential, wonderful rolling stock and would just be the perfect route for TSW2!! I support this :) :)

India is underrated for TSW2, It has so much to offer in terms of trains and for railfans, after all, wouldn't it be marvelous to drive for the largest train operator on the planet!

Have one for you the Mandurah Line in Western Australia. If I have to stay out there then my Local station is Wellard. Only my Mum's sister uses Wellard Station before that Hers was Bassendean Midland Line.

it will be the ultimate test of unreal engine and tsw2 if dtg simulates konkan railway , there is just so many things going on and each and every part makes it beautiful , dtg will have a hard time simulating the terrain properly specially the rivers.. simulating the rolling stock is easy for them each and every detail of those alcos and emds are available online from datasheet to user manual and audio recording can be obtained by the railfans , it takes 3 engines to do the job of 1 in that incline .

Austria's the one I'm actually expecting, but would love to see Italy in the game. Vicenza to Venice would be a great route.
