Good afternoon everyone, Our latest roadmap is now live, if you want to read it and see all the new screenshots in detail - then head over to our April Roadmap article! For any questions you may have, please leave them in this thread. We are asking that only questions be posted here, if you wish to share your thoughts on the latest content announced, then please do so in the comments of the Roadmap Discussion Thread. Also - if you have questions, please make sure you read the Roadmap first. It might well be your question is answered within it!
Any updates on the AI train PIS bug? Last month Matt said they were looking into it but he had no further updates - is this still the case?
Will the class 700 share the features that were included on the 323? E.g. -Door opening at slightly different times. -brake effectiveness being dependent on passenger count. Also will we be able to use it in Ac mode like the Class 387?
Will the Peak Forest route be majority freight? Seems like from the images and text the focus is primarily in the freight direction?
Thanks for your questions - we'll try to answer what we can. Some of the questions on later content, like the 700, will be 'to be confirmed at a later date', though. (As mentioned in the example of the 700, the skeleton of the train has been built, but it's just a shell at the moment).
Where is the HST for the livery designer the one that was supposed to be waiting on a release slot? Witch was mentioned in last months stream by mat.
Matt is out of the office this week on a well-earned holiday (I know, slacker), but I haven't heard anything else on this since last month.
There's a section on it in the Roadmap article. We're hoping, all being well, to put it in alongside Midland Main Line.
For a loco DLC, it's good to see the 700 revealed quite far ahead, so hoping it will be top-quality as result! But, for my question - why, does this DLC have quite a vague 'summer' release date for just a loco? I can understand such for a route, thus without going into detail, does that mean the 700 could be for more than just SEHS? EDIT: Apologies, just seen JD's post above regarding the 700.
Why isn't the 700 layering on BML? Since the 700 won't be layering, can we consider development finished on BML? No TOD4 update? Why is there only 1 freight service on MML? Why do UK freight operations in TSW seem so bare-bones compared to US/DE?
Will the former guard's cab/auxiliary driving cab behind the engine be accessible in the new version of the Class 43? I am not sure what it is used for except for storage in the modern era, but in the GWR HST it was modelled so you could see in through the window, but the doors didn't open nor could it be accessed via the gangway from the first/last carriage.
Ive got many questions only for the class 700 Question1: Will it have a Power Changeover Introduction in the Training Center? Question 2: Can the Auto Voltage Change be Functional Please? Question 3: Can you make all of the Screens working and functional please? i.e Animations on the in cab monitoring screens Question 4: For the PIS/TMS Screen, Can you make it functional and working with the features like the class 385 i.e SDO (selective door opening) Annoucements Authentic PIS displays in carriage, showing the same information as real life rather than a bad replica/standard DMI screen GSMR Computer Working Question 5: Can you Layer it on the Training Centre? Question 6: Is AC/Pantograph and the pantograph light added?
Hey - really appreciate the excitement, and the questions! As mentioned above - the Class 700 is in early development at this stage, and this information will be shared closer to release (i.e. closer to the Summer).
Thanks for the initial questions, folks. Please remember to read the article before posting questions, in case they're answered in there! Will pick this up with DTG Alex and will tackle some of these tomorrow. Answers for the 700 will be limited at the moment, as it's still in very early development.
We know preston to blackpool is being worked on, this is a distance of 16 miles, the Just trains route is 40 miles so its not preston to Blackpool, I wonder what it is?
How come only 1 freight service on MML? Surely way more could be included even if only as AI to make the route feel alive
Answered you in another thread, but for the benefit of others interested: London Commuter will continue, as with other routes, to receive updates - we want to incrementally improve performance on the route, and enable Rush Hour passengers as a result - but, TOD4 lighting isn't planned. This is Skyhook's first passenger timetable, so they've been wrestling with the systems to ensure the passenger experience is as good as it can be. It does leave opportunities to add more freight in the future, and I've passed the feedback to Skyhook. This is what it will be released with, though. Not accessible in this version.
Do you have any news about the final fix for the BR 187 sounds which has its proper sounds but badly mixed as this issue has been a thing for over a year ?
The Midland Mainline between Leicester-Nottingham-Derby is very busy with freight. Seeing just one freight service is a bit of a disappointment however it's not a deal breaker for me and this will still be a day one purchase for me. Will there be other freight services added in the future?
Why is the 420 marked as "NEW", last time I checked, it's been on the roadmap for years, what am I missing here?
The team is relatively small it’s not the size of DTG hence why it’s taking ages and they just released their first route so they can’t do many projects at the same time but it’ll come normally this year
Sure, but the 420 project isn't new, isn't new to the roadmap and from what I could gather wasn't even mentioned in the article, the "NEW" tag therefore does not make any sense.
Probably cuz tsg have started resuming work on it now that niddertalbahn released. Fixes for niddertalbahn are still coming but maybe it's new cuz it's the active and main project now
This is a question that could probably be answered better by Skyhook seeing as they're developing the route, but I was wondering if/why Toton Yard/Depot isn't included on the new MML route seeing as it's not that far away from the line and also presents a major starting point for freight services.
this may be some early feedback, but is there any chance the oval like shape around the headlight could be made darker on the 700? i can see irl it is there but it’s a lot less noticeable than in the screenshots given
If older routes aren’t being upgraded anytime soon. Is there anything that can be done to stop the blurry invisible wheels on trains on these in the meantime?
Are Rivet doing further fixes for ScotRail Express? A lot of issues have been resolved which is great, but there are still fairly significant ones remaining.
When will you fix the broken "unbind key" function? https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/tsw3-unbind-keys.59128/
I had a quick follow up question regarding the xbox audio issue? A few months ago Matt said that it was on the list and I was wondering if there was any update?
When the timetable for SEHS is updated for the Class 700/0, could it perhaps be looked at that the West Cornwall Railtour Jubilee‘s sub on to the SEHS Railtour?
What was the thinking about giving us just 1 freight service on MML? It feels like it was done as a tick box exercise rather than actual meaningful game play if Im being honest. Its not going to stop me picking it up, but it would be nice to understand the logic behind the decision please.
Very disappointed that you haven’t budged on Peak Forest, that is the strong community feedback to extend the route south a few miles to Derby and/or include a reworked Peak in green livery. Can we please have a bit more background than what was in the roadmap as to why. Yes north of Ambergate may be the scenic focus but we also need at least one end point to be a railway operations focal point. Otherwise it’s akin to starting the Central Wales line at Knighton and finishing at Llandeilo. As has pointed out by 1963 diesels shared equal prominence on this route with steam and should be included, might even increase the appeal of this truncated route to those not interested in kettles. What is happening regards the serious level crossing bug creeping into recent German routes where the vehicle stoppers aren’t working. Can you confirm this is noted and being worked on, please?
Will the class 158 for West Midlands Mainline have a functioning guard panel beside each door to allow players to RP as a guard as they can on ScotRail Express?
Because it’s the passenger services that are important in this dlc who needs freight when there’s a superior class 158
So leave the freight out completely, adding a single service isnt going to sway people who enjoy freight predominately to buy it.
Whatever happened to optimising and releasing a new timetable for GWE? Any updates on forgotten about routes such as Munich/Augsburg? Delays to these updates/routes doesn’t fill me with confidence that we can expect meaningful updates to any other routes.
