Purchased BR heavy haulage and so far very disappointing. Class 47 oil train out of Manchester only does 13kph and does about 30kph on the "gentler" inclines. The disappointment comes from the advertising showing dual locos which to my search, there are no scheduled services with dual locos. The whole point of getting this add on was to use dual locos. Even the class 50 struggles with empty oil wagons.
There are double-headed services in the DLC, you have to find them first though. Regarding to the speed, I wondered that too. Are these freighters really so encumbering for the diesels?
Try any of the heavy oil trains, most of them should be double headed. As for the 47, there's is definitely something off with the physics. Check out this thread for that: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/class-47-ntp-route-slow.16822/ Just avoid the 47 until it's fixed. With the other locos, I find it very enjoyable
You've got a class 50!!? Yep for double headed services the mention of heavy oil are the one's to look for. BUT they are only available when using the class 40. There's not any double 47s, 45s or mixed locos. Although the game's 47 could certainly do with some extra help!
Only the Class 40s can work in multiple. They have "blue star" compatible jumper cables so IRL could work with Classes 20, 25, 26, 27, 31, 33 and 37 if I recall.
