I have 70 DLC"s installed, and this is what I do to get the game to start. Start the game, and wait about 30 seconds until the music starts to play at the loading screen. Keep an eye on the spinning wheel of doom. If it stutters heavily, or just sits there frozen, quit the game immediately. Restart the game again, and keep an eye on the wheel again. If it shows less stutter, chances are good the game will start. At most I quit and restart about 3 times before I have successful load.
Yeah, or playing on their phones eating cheetos. I got a solution how to make the game better. Stop making new routes half done and work on core game fixes, fix and improve existing routes. Then the game would be playable. That's what I would do..not rocket science here. Smh.
Ok, thanks. This nevertheless raises a serious problem upstream, on your side, regarding the beta tests carried out! a simple Xbox tester (like me, or other Xbox players) with the same configuration (game TSW4 + Add on TSW TSW2 TSW3, would have immediately suffered this problem and the correction could have been made BEFORE the release on the market. Now, the damage is done, and many players, having spent a lot at DTG, are seriously starting to lose confidence in you! Was it worth releasing a new game, when 3 still had uncorrected problems, and reproduced on the 4 ? very personally, I don't think so. Releasing your game in working order would have been wise, I think. and of course, no compensation will be made from DTG, in the Xbox days... next Add on offered, loco etc... for my part.... more than 2000 euros (it is enormous) spent on TSW! It's a little disgusting.
I'm down to 31 add-ons. Mostly UK and LGV for the unit on SEHS. HAD 39 WHICH WAS ALL UK, SKA, LGV and Niddertalbahn (coz that one didn't want to be removed, had to select it 3 times before it went) it still crashed at that so I then removed all the underground stuff and the 2 IOW routes and can now play the game
You're totally right this issue SHOULD have been picked up before release but the issue is that BETA testers probably only get the new release. Like everybody else they likely have to wait until official release before being able to use all other add-ons. However after last year's issue on the PS5 (admittedly Sony not DTG responsible for that one) something like this should have been for seen as a possibility even on PC. As far as releasing 4 when 3 still had issues they released 3 when 2 & its upgrade Rush Hour still had issues and just abandoned them as a broken mess, exactly what they'll do with 3 and exactly what they'll do with 4 next September when they push 5 on us
Update: so unfortunately i did get my TSW4 to work i mainly uninstalled most of the old tsw routes that haven’t been updated since train sim 2020
Hey Guys and dtg jan when I put console offline (cut off from DTG online content) TSW4 (with 80+ addons) became completely stable (no crashes at all) . Make your own conclusions. Check this out. Update: no Cc liveries and mastery bs, but who cares, not a single crash since offline! ;D
Hello everyone, can we ask anyone who is experiencing crashes on Xbox when starting up to put their console into Offline mode (This can be done via Network Settings). We believe this may be a temporary workaround, but we could use more player reports.
Yep I had not a single crash since then. I predict it is most probably CC issue than anything else, then solution #2 I guess wolud be wiping out all your subscribed liveries... But for it just assumption.
You know this wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. Got down to 31 add-ons yesterday from having everything and still getting told I need to install routes that I've just been driving! Cc has never worked properly and while it has some great scenarios and liveries on there is incredibly limited in use
DTG has just posted an update in the announcements thread regarding a temporary workaround to stop the crashes.
So creators club being an issue, who would have thought it, DTG your creators club experiment was a failure, might as well get rid,
Going offline seems to ease things and I havnt crashed on loading since (Xbox X with 74 addons). That said have since removed US content (which I play least) as keep getting Out of Memory CTDs when trying to run the full fat NY Trenton route. Another issue I know, but pretty unacceptable for a 9th gen console.
I’ve a few least used add-ons of mine removed and am planning on removing Ruhr Sieg Nord too to save space though I don’t suppose it’ll cost me the use of my DB red 155 haha
Get rid of it? No! I use or did use a lot of creators content to make my own scenarios and fantasy railroad stuff. It's pretty cool..just needs fixed. When some US engines are LOVE I get another from a different dlc and find a skin to use on a given route. Horseshoe curve GE engines are horrible so I use Cajon Pass ones with NS paint scheme from a content creator and bam! Got what I want and should be. It's very handy in creating fun in the game and for more realism. I do not want to see it gone! A lot of people put in a lot of work in those paint schemes.
Going offline works for me aswell, with 98% all dlc installed . Once loaded in to game I go back online so far not had a crash and railfanshots won't always send but still play the game. Series x. Will keep you all up to date as day goes on.
Do you start the game, then switch to offline afterward? As if I switch to offline first, then when I try to start TSW it says 'this game needs to be online' to be played etc.
You need to make your xbox your home xbox to work offline. Go to settings then to personalisation then to my xbox home.hope this helps
I had the same issue. Got home from work yesterday, took the console offline, game told me to pound sand. Tried today after setting the console as my home (and giving it a swanky dark red color scheme), game booted up first try! Thanks Wooki! And thanks cloudy for asking in the first place!
Alex, I just tested this and it works like a charm. 80/+ DLC installed, even got New York Penn to load on a full rush hour morning timetable. If you guys do post this publicly as a workaround please make sure you forward Wooki74's instructions on setting the console as the home Xbox.
It doesn't surprise me if it is a CC issue. Every run I've done on ECML has included weird coloured 158 and 66's that I'm assuming the livery sub is struggling to use
Update it worked since I started playing this morning this only now I have had my first crash doing full timetable on sehs service 1f20 ctd on loading.
After crashing in game, when I restarts, and have a successful load, I sometimes am stuck with the huge XBox cursor on the screen, and so far I can't figure out how to get rid of it. Edit...Pressing the XBox Home button gets rid of it.
Apologies for not responding sooner, but only managed to play TSW late last night. Thankfully, it worked without issue and I enjoyed many hours of Vorarlberg - cheers Wooki74 Yep, no worries R3DWolf91 . It was finally nice to play TSW again - haha 5 hours last night to be exact and was great.
No problems with br 423. Also no problems with rhe weather in timetable. I change it everytime. Have you set back to offline after downloading br 423?
After several days of repeated crashes, I've given up Taking my game offline isn't an option, because I spend half my time at home when I'm working, or the rest of my time at my partners when I'm off, and I play the xbox at both locations. Changing the xbox home settings would prevent me being able to do this. I've removed over half of my DLC, and still getting crashes just loading simple 3-7 minute shunts not even in peak hours. Had I known it was going to be so bad, i would have continued playing TSW3 instead but I've completely uninstalled everything and moved my profile over to TSW4 before I knew of the issue. I'll keep an eye on the forums for updates, and no doubt I'll come back to TSW when the crashing problem is fixed. But for now, off to play MK1 instead.
If you don't want to use the offline option, you can try the following. Start the game, wait about 39 seconds or so for the music to start playing, and then manually exit and close the game. Then start the game again, and keep an eye on the spinning wheel of doom. Id it stutters bad, or seems frozen, just manually exit and quit the game again. About 3 manual quits at most, and the game will load with all your DLC's installed. I have 80 installed, and been playing using the above method since last week. Be aware that so far, NY-Trenton will crash the game if you select the extended time table. Playing this way, I am getting my achievement as well as Masteries.
