Nice DLC but unfortunately very buggy. I have the following problem that catches up with me again and again after 10 minutes of driving. For me, the speedometer always stopped working after the 10 minutes of driving. This can certainly happen thanks to the interference simulation... but if you turn on the HUD, the speedometer also switches off, which I find very strange. Especially when I repeat the same mission, the speedometer stops working at exactly the same place, even when you drive without any interference. am I actually the only one who has this problem with the speedometer because I haven't read anything about the problem myself. Happens during the mission from the travel chapter in the middle.
It’s not a bug, you forgot to switch on Zugsammelschiene. you do actually see the warning light in your screenshot
You have the little light on the dashboard: "ZS". This means that your train is not powered, therefore you are discharging the battery . So you have to activate it with the switch on your left by turning it. The light then goes out and you find the speedometer (among other things).
Actually, I didn't even notice. But now I'm embarrassed. Now it actually works without any speedometer failure, the error was mine sorry. Thank you for your kind support. Thanks to JBViper also for the picture.
Just made it through "sweaty palms" with almost no problems. if you don't count the spider that I saw on my arm and by the time I got it off, Sifa had me. Have to join the crowd saying how wonderful this loco is.
Running Scenario "Empty Pipes" and have gotten to Traunstein. Once I have coupled to the disabled loco and the instructions tell me to go to the point where I can reverse back to my train. There are no instructions at this point to change cabs again, just move. I have tried this both ways, reversing in the cab I am in and switching to the other cab. Either way my air dumps and I get the fault message "PNEU: Zwangsbremse durch LZB / Indusi." Instructions are to release the emergency brake, reset the throttle and go. Well the emergency brake handle is in release position. Nothing I have attempted will get the brakes to charge.
That scenario has unrealistic cab changes i think. What i also encountered, is when having to connect the 2 loco's back to the coaches, is that the switch was in the wrong direction. So with Junction Derail on, i could not complete this scenario
I don't know if this bug was just reported in previous messages, but i found a bug in "Take a Cab Back" scenario. When you arrived at Salzburg hbf, you have to prepare the train for the travel to Rosenheim. When you close the 101 cab and you join the cab car, it asks you to "unlock" brakes, set them on "running" and then on "full service". The problem is when you release and apply the brakes, the steps is not confirmed by game; so you can't go over this step and finish the scenery.
I had a slight (possible) bug - I was doing a Kassel Wurzburg run, and decided I need to see indicators better cos you drive a lot in the tunnels, so I increased brightness of everything, and usually when you drive under LZB supervision, only B and U are lit, but when I increased indicator brightness, also the 85 (aka PZB) light came on... nothing of functionality changed, I was able to drive no problem as if nothing happened, just noticed this was odd
Yes, it's a visual bug. For information, William (cwf.green) created a thread with identified bugs + resolution status for future patches: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...leshooting-steps-and-bug-fixing-status.83596/
I have a question on the "Empty Pipes" scenario. Since I am experiencing a complete brake pressure dump when I couple to the disabled loco and have not figured out what the problem could be in my 101, is it possible that the automatic brake handle in the other loco is in emergency and would this make any difference if the brakes are tuned off.
With much puzzling, I have solved the problem, You know being able to trouble shoot issues with your loco is one of the great things about this expert 101.
For some reason the doors don't visually open when controlled by other locos such as the BR 182 and 218 even though the hud states that they are open.
I know with the 101 Expert the doors are open on demand and if you use it on free roam there is no demand due to missing timetable. In reality you do not enter a train thats not listed on any timetable right?! So the TSW passengers does the same behaviour
You really need to think of the doors being unlocked not necessarily open. If you were to go along the train and press one of the car's door open buttons, it would open for a while and probably close again.
Not sure if you have found the cause yet, as this was posted a week ago, but for me, after searching for a long time, I have. You probably changed cabs, have you not? I found this was a result of not properly shutting down the IC cab car which caused the failure. Should this happen again, turn off the IC cab car battery switch, and if that doesn't work, the PZB valve. That should fix it I think. At least, it did for me.
Yes changing ends requires attention because the indusi can make a "zwangsbremsung", which is coming from the tsw core, not from a specific dlc. I had this many times in combination with the 500hz magnet on all routes with all german stock. So changing ends (cab car to 101 / 101 cab1 to 101 cab2 / 101 loco 1 to 101 loco 2...) requires putting the reverser into 0 then back to forward to reset the pzb. Then you can shut down the cab normally and change ends. In the 101 sometimes the brakepipe gets vented when switching the reverser into 0. So you have to switch the reverser into F and reset the brakeapplication with pzb frei, then pump the train again. After this you can shut down normally because the pzb is reseted and you wont have trouble to change ends. Most players do 1 run and they will never notice this. But i had a lot of forth / back runs with all kind of stock, and with the other locos you getting this behaviour mostly when changing ends infront of a red main signal where the 500hz light is active.
no I havent changed ends/cabs ... but from digging for answers and asking ppl questions, the short version is this: - stuff behaves like it should prototypically, but because previous (aka all other German) DLCs didnt have brake systems and such stuff as deeply simulated (especially brakes on coaches), the release of brakes after pressing Q was usually very quick but because here all that braking stuff is simulated in a very deep and realistic way, once you get a Sifa Zwangsbremsung, this happens: I also had a very similar reply, maybe a tad more clear, in a conversation with Raph'... but he basically said that once Sifa is properly simulated, you really dont want to get it on a IC consist, which you usually get here, because those brakes are incredibly powerful and even if you press Q, they take so much time to release that only if you go very fast will you be able to regain control and still moving cos believe me, during my "testing", I also tried releasing brakes in cab car, releasing stuff in other cab and other things, nothing helped... so you can only try and stay vigilant and press Q regularly, because once you get Sifa penalty, yes, you can press Q, but you also have to pray to train Jesus that he leaves you at least some speed
Ah, this is exactly what I was experiencing in the "Empty Pipes" scenario after I coupled to the 111 and moved the reverser. I was able to puzzle it out but took time. Also for an American who is trying to learn these German titles, a literal translation of PZB frei is PZB free, but what valve/switch/button is this in the cab?
a bug I noticed is that when I spawn ic cab-car with any loco in training center, no driver is shown in driver's seat Note: this seems to be something related to ic cab-car and training center only since this doesn't occur with ic cab-car on another route and doesn't occur with another loco, emu, dmu or other cab-car on training center
I think i found a bug. If you change the indicator brightness while in LZB the PZB light turns back on. Not really anything major but would be nice if it was fixed
it is already noted in this thread: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...ubleshooting-steps-and-bug-fixing-status.8359 it is a purely visual bug tho happened to me too on Kassel Wurzburg run when I increased indicator brightness to see them better in tunnels
I would like some help in the scenario "Take a Cab Back". I have gotten to Salzberg and switched to the cab car and set it up as instructed. Well, I can't get the brake pressure above 1.5 bars and the PZB may or may not work even though I remembered the step, required in the cab car, of confirming your data with the PZB acknowledge key.
As mentioned in other threads, go back to the BR101, reactivate it, release PZB, shut it down, then return to the cab car. The loco is forcing a PZB emergency brake, a bug the devs acknowledged.
I somehow can't complete the Unlock Doors task in the IC Köln - Dresden 07:24 service when I get to Dresden-Neustadt. I've tried four times now, tried resetting, tried unlocking with both the keyboard and with using the mouse. Also tried several saves from a standstill at the station. Tried opening doors manually by pressing buttons on the cars, but generally, the unlock doors control seems to work, so doors open, but task (and timetable service) won't complete. DB 101 MFA version.
Playing EC217 in the S286 Cab car Saarbüken to Graz Hbf just before prien chiemsee the tells me boths sets doorsof right and left are released even when the cab dial says there locked the hud also sets my speed to zero even though im doing line speed when i get to prien chiemsee i unlock the doors but eventually complete the objective but leaves me unable to move the train will not take power i reset the physics but it then then enables sifa i disable it get going then i get stopped again and unable to move
Sounds to me again like you forgot to enable ZS. However, difficult to follow your sentences due to complete lack of punctuation marks, so, I might not have understood your point... Also, screenshots would be helpful.
Activate the ZS-switch: your train doesn't have power hence the incorrect speed reading and the door issues. Read. The. Manual. It states clearly that you should never reset the physics with the Expert DB BR 101, as it messes things up. You're encountering real life issues because you didn't read the manual.
The windshield heating switch is not clickable in both the IC and MFD variants of the 101 but it works in the standard expert version. I am unsure if this has been brought up or not.
Did this and have brake pressure and an active PZB. Now, I can't get any power when I apply the throttle in the cab car. Went back and did the cab switch again. This time I was able to get air pressure, PZB active but now, even though the doors are closed, can't get the "Lock Doors" to go off, so can't move again. This scenario "Take a Cab Back" is literally kicking my ass.
Hello there, i maybe found some additional bugs which aren't listed yet. At least i couldn't find them in this thread: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...leshooting-steps-and-bug-fixing-status.83596/ I am deeply sorry, if i have overseen some already reported bugs. 101: -the switch "Lüfter" is not animated on the second cab -the switch "Bremse lösen" does not release the Brakes when pressed towards the driver (backwards). It just releases the brakes when pressed forwards (towards the windshield). In reallife it works in both directions. -When MSS "Fahrmotorlüfter x" is stopped (breaker stopped manually) the cooling fan for the traction motors should be stopped. Therefore the temperature of the affected engine should rise at least at the same speed like the others (all cooling fans stopped) or even faster when the other traction motors are being cooled. At least at the display (W -> Prozess) there is no change in temperature in case of a stopped cooling fan. ASG doesn't change configuration either, so there should be nothing stopping the temperature to rise. EDIT: Today a simulated fault occurred regarding this topic. When the fault-simulation stops the fans then ASG changes configuration as it should. It seems that this fault has rather something to do with the ASG Config change than a faulty temperature simulation. It also could be that this bug occurres only in very specific circumstances. I tried to reproduce this bug, but i had defenetivly some kN on the affected engine the other day. -Maybe very picky, but on the real 101 the PZB/LZB accoustics and lamps as well as the speedometer and the "Zugkraftanzeige" (i don't know the english term for this, sorry) are also activated in the non leading cab. So when driving in cab 1, all these informations are also displayed in cab 2. I discovered this changing the cab. If you forget to take out the reverser, then the PZB/LZB lights in cab 1 are still iluminated and should also be iluminated in cab 2. But in this case "B" is still iluminated in cab 2, but the PZB Mode, f.e. "85" is dark. I didn't change cabs while driving, but i assume it's also not or not fully implemented for the speedometer and the "Zugkraftanzeige". If this is also the case for the MFD locos irl i don't know. EDIT: I just tested changing the cab while driving. This bug is only related to the PZB Lamps and maybe other lamps (Maybe other lamps weren't illuminated in my test and therefore i couldn't test if they also have this fault). F.e. if there aren't any consist data in the PZB/LZB unit. 55 and Stör flash in both cabs when one cab is activated (Reverser foward). This also doesn't occur. The speedometer and the "Zugkraftanzeige" otherwise are shown correctly in both cabs. Regarding the brakes and the writings on the coaches there are also some irregularities: -On the Avmmz the number of the brakeforce (f.e. P 54t) isn't consistent between the leaver which changes the brake mode and the writing on the side of the coach for brakemode P (54t on the side -> on the Brakeleaver 64t) -The red colour written numbers for brakemode R aren't fully visible at the side of the Bvmmz. Instead of 76t in brakemode R you can only see " 6t". Last but not least: Very often (at least for my use case) there is a fault regarding the traction motors of one bogie. On the Display the icon "DG" pops up and a fault beginns to flash. ASG changes configuration. But after pressing "St" i got a message "Keine Störungen vorhanden" -> no faults found. Maybe i am not familiar enough with the 101 but shouldn't a fault pop up and tell me at least why the power on a whole bogie was cut off? Thank you in advance. Sorry if i wrote something wrong or not understandable, but the last time i have written something in english was in school 8 years ago ^^ So grammatical mistakes are inevitable and i apologize for any of them.Writing this post at 3am isn't helping either ^^ I should also add that i am NOT a traindriver in Germany but a railway inspecting engineer with some extensive technical knowledge, especially in the systems that interfere with my working space (Signalling boxes and train protection systems). So especially regarding the displays and the PZB/LZB in the nonactive cab i must say, that for the inspections of the LZB System sometimes we engineers have to drive backwards in the second cab while the traindriver is operating from the leading cab. The illuminated lamps on the MFA i have seen in reallife, otherwise i couldn't check the right function of the system while driving in the non-leading cab Greetings from germany, Marc
Found a very obscure one... In the cab 2, when trying to enter numbers into the Brh calculator, the 8 doesn't input. Cab 1 works as expected.
Dont think you will get details like sales figures. However, it was aparently successfull enough to do another expert loco. Source: Mein Gamescom-Interview mit DTG-Entwickler Lukas mit neuen Infos! | TRAIN SIM WORLD 5 (youtube.com)
The sales of the 101 expert where very good. They are pleased and go further to produce and have the next loco already in production.
Can somebody reproduce also all of another key informations from this interview with DTG Lukas? Youtube translated captions aren’t so good, I catched something about layering on Frakfurt-Fulda but i’m not sure if I understood it correct way. Thanks in advance.
You can read all about it here: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...mescom-2024-aka-lukasleaks.83947/#post-882114
I just got the expert BR101 and noticed a weird issue with the cabcar right off the bat. Whenever I pick a cabcar service on either of the routes that have a expert 101 timetable my character spawns into the train sitting sideways and without a DB uniform on (see pics). Even if I get up and sit back down still sideways, and restarting the service doesn't fix it either. Very weird. Stays like that when driving too. Spawning into a 101 loco itself is fine, sitting normally and in proper uniform. Anyone else have this issue? This is on PS5. EDIT: I see now its been well documented! Oh well not a major function issue and I am sure a patch will handle it.
I can’t seem to get rid of the notification that says ‘apply some power to get moving’ in the Touchdown scenario. I know it’s also been said before but the passenger doors are seriously bugged, either not opening or not closing or working fine at the first stop but not at the next etc on both the 101 and the cabcar. And the speedo going to zero when I am braking is also not helpful. I’m on ps5, using the expert versions and expected a less buggy product for the money I paid!
These are no bugs! They function the way you handle them;-) https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/db-br-101-‘expert’-feedback-thread.83414/page-6#post-875764 EDIT: you want to read the post after the link from JBViper as well, will make it easier to understand…
Cheers and apologies, totally missed that in the manual. I assume it also affects door control and will try again tomorrow
Aren't you braking too hard in slippy conditions? Because it looks like you're locking the wheels, which, as the speedo is reading wheel speed, will result in zero speed being shown.
Could it be that the AI always drives with Zugsammelschiene off and will break the train after a certain time?
I am trying to learn the digital entry of the train data and don't seem to be able to get the screen to accept any data entry. The system is repeating “Störung” at me, but when I go to that screen, I see this. When I open the screen to enter the train data this is what I see. The ZUG/KON is blinking yellow and the soft keys don't work in entering the train data numbers. Also the up and down keys do not move me up to the "Daten uber-tragen" line. Any thoughts and/or assistance welcome.
