Unfortunately, I’m running into some issues with the Frankfurt - Fulda timetable on PS5.

Firstly, the timetable selection lacks most trains. See here:
    IMG_7809.jpeg
No freight, no ICE-T, no DoStos, …

Secondly, I attempted IC 1279. Once stopped at Hanau though, the instructions simply didn’t progress. They stayed like this:
    IMG_7808.jpeg
Doors were locked, though they seemed to not work quite correctly either. I had to manually drag the door selector since the keybinds on the controller did not work for some reason.

The blurring that’s occuring on consoles now/again is also visible in that last shot.

    Thank you, that is helpful.

Hmm, I'm not quite sure what is going on with regards to the missing trains. Seems like some layers have been turned off or missing DLC dependencies. I'll forward it.

Regarding the door issue, that is known and a fix is in progress. It is the HUD/keybind interface that is broken when driving from cab 2 (and unfortunately a lot of the formations on FTF have the BR 101 leading with cab 2.).

You need to set the tail light switch to the correct position. Make sure to do the Expert tutorial and check out the manual if you haven't already ;)

Thank you very much. The trains are all there on the original timetable selection, so it seems limited only to the expert timetable. I didn't see any freight (apart from the V60s) or ICE-Ts in my run, so they're probably completely missing and not just unselectable. I didn't check that though.

Are the issues with the instructions at Hanau I mentioned also down to this issue?

I misspoke, the service you referenced has the BR 101 leading with cab 1 front, so keybinds and the menu should work here (I even tested it just now in the beta build, but of course that is different).

I'm not sure what's going on with your game, I'll ask console beta testers to see if it can be reproduced (same with the missing layers) in the beta (if not then it points to the patch not being completely integrated, or at least that is my understanding).

EDIT: Oh and the cab blurring, is that present on other routes than FTF?

Hello, I bought the loco and enjoy it even if I struggle with lots of things.
My main problem for the moment is... how do you turn on passenger light in the coaches ? There is a trainlight switch in front of the driver but it doesn't do anything ...

    Sorry for noob question!

    PS5

    Frankfurt - Fulda
EC 218 starting 16:25 at Frankfurt
    Expert 101

I cannot get the Train running. Im pretty confident everything is set up correctly, no faults.

Whenever i put the throttle to select power, it actually starts powering up, releasing the brakes but about one second, it takes power back an applies the brakes, then it powers up again and so on.

    Had anyone any Idea ?

I've had the same issue on most, if not all services with the 101 leading since the update. The locomotive brakes (and only those) apply immediately after starting at standstill. Not sure if intended.

My workaround was quick release of the brakes while accelerating full throttle.

Im on PC/Epic if it matters.

I guess you had AFB enabled? If so you need to start out with 60-100% throttle (depending on train length, gradient etc) since the system will cut power if it senses that you haven't reached enough speed under power after a certain time. If you cannot depart with AFB you must disable AFB and perform a hill start.

EDIT: the change is explained in point 26 here Guide - Br 101 Expert: Troubleshooting Steps And Bug Fixing Status | Dovetail Games Forums

    Correct.

Was able to start without AFB so this seems to be it. Will try tomorrow with more power as im usually starting of with around 50% Power application. Again im really impressed how deep this simulation of the 101 Expert goes. Thx for the super quick reply.

Had the same problem today at SKW using the MFD Version. Lights in the coaches couldn’t be turned on. Maybe a bug?

But I really have to thank you for the headlights adjustments!. It is much better now! The normal lights aren’t too bright anymore and it now possible to drive at night in the fog. And the high beams work perfectly well for me! Great work, helps a lot in terms of immersion.

Did you turn the train power on? On spawn the loco does not provide power to the train (meaning the stuff that is behind the loco), and train power needs to be turned on.

    (PS5)

Im unable to open, nor close the Doors via the d-pad keys on my controller. It says "Doors opening" in the player help window but the doors aren't actually doing anything.

However using the door switch in the loco cab, doors open and close normal.

*edit : seems this problem is already known.

I can confirm the Timetable problem. I only get the Vectron as freight loco and the 423 is completely missing for me (still spawns as AI but i cannot do the S8 services)

Funny thing: i somehow managed to get the full selection on my screen once but i dont know how i managed to do that.

Is it possible that PS5 accidentally got the PS4 Timetable version ?

The parking brake on the BR 101 is designed in such a way that pressure in the brake cylinders push against the spring of the parking brake. Above ~ 1.5 bar brake cylinder pressure the parking brake is no longer applying force to the wheels and so the light at the back wall of the cab will extinguish and the MTD status message disappears. So what you are describing is probably prototypical (unless the C pressure was 0 bar). Releasing all air brakes should make the light illuminate again.

Make sure to hold the Train Lights switch in the "On" position for about a second, it won't react immediately. Also, you need to press and hold, then let go and press and hold again to get the coach lights to full intensity. The first press only illuminates the coaches to 50%.

Maybe you replied to the wrong message, but just to be clear: train lights do not require "Electric Train Supply" (ZS) to be active, these work on the battery. The parking brake light has no interacting with the ZS but do require the battery to be enabled for the light to illuminate (also if battery is off the parking brake switches to brake pipe control and will be automatically applied due to the venting of the brake pipe).

It is possible, although it seems unlikely. But I will forward this to DTG/Lukas :)

hello I have the problem with the BR 101 expert that when I press the sifa my HUD is visible and when I let go of the Sifa the HUD disappears and only comes back automatically at about 10 kmh.
In addition, the locomotive does not accelerate further at 2 KMH if I only give little power about 40%, when the AFB is switched on, the stop brake of the LOK is triggered immediately and I stop. I can only get the locomotive up to speed with difficulty.

    Can anyone help me?

Have a look at this :

About the Sifa, i think Sifa only activates at a certain speed.

Why is the DB BR363 DLC necessary for the Expert runs of IC 1950 and 1983 at Frankfurt-Fulda? Is this intentionally?

Ive done the 1983 Service to FFM Hbf which terminates there. It then gets hauled into the yard by a 363. I was quite surprised when it showed up but like this little feature for sure.

Curious. If I get the time, I’ll try the run again to make see if it was only a one-off glitch. The blurring is there on other routes as well. It’s a thing that DTG sometimes claims to have fixed only for it to return with the very next patch.

In the Touchdown scenario, I get stuck at the very beginning. I take a seat in the driver’s seat, insert the master key and set it to neutral, then unlock the brakes. This is where I get stuck: I’m then asked to hold the Electric Train Supply for one second. When I do, the “ZS Aus” turns off, and so does the “Batterieladegerät” and "Klimaanlage" in the overhead status panel too. The battery voltage meter in the electrical cabinet changes from ~21 Volts to around 29 Volts. After a few seconds, I can also hear the A/C fans starting, so something is happening. I have "NBÜ/ep" and "Bremse" lit up, which both seems to be expected at this point.

Yet, the “Hold for 1 second task” related to the turning on the electrical supply is not satisfied. It never moves on to ask for the train data to be entered (which is the next task showing in the task list). Back at the loco, I have one active error message active: ¨Übertragungsstörung" with this shown on the V>0 screen: "Akustische Notbremsmeldung der NBÜ kann nicht übertragen werden" (the V=0 has suggestions, but neither seems to work). I can't find this specific message on data transmission errors in the manual, so I am not sure exactly which procedure to follow. Setting the "Multiple Unit Protocol" to "0" makes the error message go away, but it comes back as soon as I set the switch to "ZWS". Not sure if this is related to my problem at all, but it is an active faults after all, so it's worth mentioning.

Looking at various play-through videos on YouTube, none so far shows this task at all, so I’m guessing it is something that was added in an update. I’m not sure if it’s something I am expected troubleshoot and fix, or if there’s a problem with the scenario itself. I have spent the good of 2 hours running back and forth between the cab car and the loco, but so far, I haven't figured out what it is. :o

Tried on Xbox Series X and Windows (Game pass).

I have noticed a difference in an ICE-T service timetable between the expert and the normal version:

    Normal FTF TT:
    upload_2024-10-18_21-36-4.png

    Expert FTF TT:
    upload_2024-10-18_21-36-56.png

Is there a specific reason that the expert tt arrives 3 minutes earlier and are other services also seeing those little changes?

Another thing I have noticed, driving Service 2278, when stopping in Fulda, none of the doors actually open. I was under the impression that the logic always requires at least one door to be open, no?

Another issue I have with the expert TT is that the ASig in Fulda only turns green once I close the doors (for this service, have not tested or noticed it on another service). This is not very realistic, as the doors would usually not close until the signal is green. It probably is the same in the non expert tt, however, especially in the expert tt I would really like to be able to rely on the signaller not waiting for me to do something unrealistic:D

And the last one for today (I think...). Its a question for the more knowledgeable on the 101.

I have noticed that the AFB Vsoll indicator in the speedpometer and on the MFD are always limited to what is currently selectable (ie 160 under PZB or whatever speed is allowed under LZB).

In this example both indicate 120, however, the AFB is actually set to max (200):
    upload_2024-10-18_22-58-14.png

I was actually under the impression that the MFD does indicate the actual position of the AFB and only the speedometer shows the speed the loco is currently trying to hold. I found it strange that the driver does not seem to have real control over the AFB in such a case. In my example I have actually tried to limit the AFB to 160, however, as I did not have an indication I could only do that once AFB went up to 200 and I could scale it down.

The rl 101 manual does not give this kind of detail (at least the one I have got). It does talk about a Vsoll but doesnt tell you if it is limited or not.

No idea. The ICE-T or any other train except the BR 101 Expert services are not the focus of the Expert timetable. I guess one exception would be the ICE-T on DRA (for the moment). I would not recommend driving non-Expert trains on the Expert FTF timetable since there are many differences due to the timetables branching off at a stage where the original TT is still getting changes/fixes.

That sounds like "dispatch beyond" (lack of). That would be the same for the original timetable, and most likely there for a good reason (it breaks AI if not).

Very good point, never thought about this fact. I do actually like to see the expet model driving around, also when I am in other trains. Admitting, though, this very rarely happens anyway:D

As for the "dispatch beyond", this is very unfortunate. As you know, I always like also realistic proceedures followed around the simulation of the actual train. However, as I am now aware, I will be able to handle it:cool:

So I just found a couple of strange things/errors in the new update:

I can now operate the cab of the BR 101 from the outside
    BR101_Outside-Prompts.jpg
Then there's a "view screen" prompt in the cab-car now in the middle of the cab...
    Screen-Prompt_1.jpg
...which leeds to the following view
    Screen-Prompt_View.jpg
Also now the little tableaut displaying train errors seems to be affected by outside lighting like it's a window, which it ain't.
    Präsentation1.gif

Would be nice if that got fixed in the next update.

The "View Screen" bug is fixable and a fix is in progress.

The two other issues I would not hold out hope for being fixed. The fault indicator panel being affected by exterior light is a core thing.

The occlusion allowing you to click through the walls of the BR 101 Expert has been there since release and can be fixed, but the fix ends up breaking a huge amount of stuff (as we already found during development). At this point it would require a ton of art changes to resolve completely so for such a minor issue that is unlikely to happen.

    That's good to know.
Fair enough, it's out of your hands and nothing game-breaking.

Keep up the great work and thanks for the quick reply!:)

Can I once again raise the issue of the deep bass rumble at higher speeds? It starts creeping in around 120km/h and gets louder, especially so as you climb above 160km/h. It is beyond obnoxious, and borderline unplayable - it is far too powerful, and needs halving in volume at least.

havent noticed this since I always keep my AFB to what is the current limit, only sometimes under PZB I do keep it higher, but in that case it lets me do so... so no idea about this, sorry :)

It is prototypical. The MTD value mirrors what the Vsoll bug would show on the speedometer when "G" is pressed. It even goes to 100 km/h during the self test as in this photo where AFB was enabled at 160 km/h with AFB VSoll at 0 km/h :D

cwf.green I saw people above reporting issues with services where a freight stops too early at Wirtheim blocking player service path, I have experienced it as well, with the cab car ICE 1193 service (starting at Fulda at 1245).

I noticed a thing today and I'm not sure if this is prototypical behavior or not:
I was driving a cabcar and got stopped in Gelnhausen where the signals are very close to each other, still within 1000 Hz influencing. After stopping and starting to move again, I was in 500 Hz restricted, which was lifted and replaced with 1000 Hz restricted, which was subsequently lifted as well, but left me with alternating lights (no magnet lights). Shouldn't the last bit be just normal 85 flashing instead of alternating? I thought alternate flashing with no magnet lights is only reserved for start program.

Not sure whether it is actually a bug or whether I am missing something (honestly, I am not an expert at all).

When driving one of the freight train timetables with the 101 and after entering/registering the train data on the GSM-R (using the train number, e.g. 85302 on Tharandter Rampe), the PZB starts with O mode rather than M.

Did you enter the correct train data - length, brake%, etc.?

Entering a train number into a radio has no effect on PZB settings whatsoever.

I thought so. I acknowledged the data in the panel on the back, they were already entered there. Did not check whether the BrH and others worked out, though.
