Today I am requesting the Line that runs from Brussels the Capital of Belgium over to Liège a beautiful city located on the border of Belgium around 45km west of Aachen Introduction: This line Famously known as HSL 2 (Hogesnelheidslijn 2) is a 66km (41mile route opened in that runs from Leuven east over to Liège before getting on HSL 3 (Line 37) to Aachen then onto Köln. While the Conventional part starts in Brussels and add onto the HSL to make it 100km (61 miles). The high speed part opened on the 15th of December of 2002 while the Conventional part opened back in 1866 The Conventional line uses 3 kV DC overhead Electrification and the HSL 2 line uses 25 kV, 50 Hz AC Now I’m not sure what safety systems are used so I am going on a wild one and Saying ETCS and Belgian HSL systems are used. The line highspeed is between 250km/h and 300km/h. Trains: The first train that we will be requesting will be the Thalys PBKA This train has a max design speed of 320km/h (200mph) but in service speed of 300km/h (186mph). This train is formed of 10 cars and is 200 meters long. This train was designed for services to Cologne (Köln) and other German cities for services the Thalys PBA could not do due to it’s safety systems. PBKA Safety systems are ETRMS Level 2, LZB, ATB, TVM-430 and KVB This train could layer onto Köln - Aachen to finish this service from Paris Gare du Nord and maybe Haupstrecke Rhein Ruhr for services to Essen. The second train is the Belgian rail class 13 + SNCB IC Coaches This train has a max speed of 200km/h or 125mph and uses a pantograph as it’s output pickup and it’s Electrical Systems are 25 kV AC, 3 kV DC and 1.5 kV DC this trains safety systems are KVB and TBL 2 *DLC* Trains used as dlcs could be The BR class 08 and the BR class 96 Layers The only train I’m certain that can layer onto this route is the BR406 (ICE 3M) • ICE in the “Europe” Livery Built in 2000 by by siemens the ICE 3M is capable 350km/h (220mph) but only limited to 300km/h (186mph) in service this train is 8 cars and 195 meters long and can be coupled up to be 16 cars 390 meters. The safety systems are KVB, LZB, SiFA, TVM-430(i think it might be 3mF only), PZB, Crocodile, ATB, ETCS and Eurobalise (That’s a lot) Electrical pickups are 15 kV 16.7 Hz AC, 1,500 DC and 25 lV 50 Hz AC Stations Conventional line 1. Brussels Midi/Zuid 2. Brussels Centrale 3. Brussels Nordstation 4. Schaerbeck 5. Haren-south 6. Diegem 7. Zaventem 8. Brussels National Airport 9. Kortenberg 10. Erps- Kwerps 11. Veltem 10. Why not merge this with Köln-Aachen? That way DTG can sell both as SFS Köln Lüttich for the same price as a Normal route because there can be savings for those that don't have Train Sim World 2. Check my suggestion L37 Aachen Liege On what conventional services run on the route. Thalys also runs to Dortmund via Hauptstrecke Rhein Ruhr
Brussel-Midi to Aachen Hbf would be (imo) better! We cross the border then also what has not been done in TSW yet & you'll end in an nice and bussier station since we got already lot of german stuff that can layers in to make it busy (Talent 2, dosto's, traxx, ICE3M, some freight)! Also again ETCS will be used onto this route, since we only got 1 route that has it and is max 160kmh (Luzern-Sursee), will this be an different experience of ETCS!
Does that include my suggestion L37 Aachen Liege & the next one I'm working on L36 Brussels Midi Leuven Liege
and possible Addo-ons HLE 28/29 traxx MS F140/160 for freight service the second M6 pilot coach/coach sncb/nmbs I10 sncb/nmbs coach I 10 can be added on Eupen Oostende services The last add-ons is the it's the AM 66 sncb/nmbs From liège guillemins to aachen HBF
aha our lovely HLE18! She runs now those services till Welkenraedt/Eupen yeahh! She mainly will run with only M6 (Ic Kortrijk-Welkenraedt) and I11 (IC Ostend-Eupen), now she runs with a mix of M7, I10 & I11 but that would require what too much work to make 3 kind of wagons sadly enough
There is another purpose it does on the route it's actually running the Nightjet from Aachen Hauptbahnhof to Brussels Midi both ways. If you want to go further with the sleeper train provided HSL 2 is merged with Schnellfahrstrecke Köln Aachen You need to uncouple HLE18 then attach Deutsche Bahn or Siemens Dispolok Baureihe 182 All the way to Cologne from Aachen Hauptbahnhof at 21:39 There is a video on how it's done
Correct would be cool to have an loco dlc's about that. Loco swaps haven't been done yet in TSW so it would be something new again!
I agree and why not apply them to freight trains too where the HLR 7771-7871 runs to Bahnhof Aachen Rothe Erde then replaced by Deutsche Bahn Baureihe 155 185.2 182 und Deutsche Reichsbahn Baureihe 132 DB Baureihe 232
Definitely a route we must have, I can already look forward to Leuven station, a great connecting point. a further roll-out of ETCS would be really special, another one in the existing ICE 3 for this new signal traffic system. current rolling stock such as MR08 Desiro ML = Eurosprinter HLE 18 + M6 would be my preference for this route, an AM80 break or AM96 DMT is also allowed, although I do not want to exaggerate with this. As long as the public on this forum gets bigger for this Country. Even the smallest railway part of Belgium could mean a lot. Good suggestion by the way Railway line 36N Brussels-North - Leuven 28,8 km 20.736 mile Railway line 36 Brussels-North - Liège-Guillemins 99,9 km 71.928 mile another Belgian route suggestion https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/belgium-railway-line-25-brussels-to-antwerpen-train-sim-world-3.61678/#:~:text=Line 25 Brussels To Antwerpen
