I have noticed that light attenuation inside tunnels has been improved after SHS release. This appears to be an engine core modification as it happens in other routes as well, not only SHS.

In the following example we have a foggy weather and as soon as we enter tunnel the fog is no longer visible and light starts to be attenuated. On the exit is the opposite. I think the light fade in and out speed could be increased a bit but overall it´s more natural than before in my opinion, so I like this addition.

There are still some objects like balises and speed boards too bright inside some tunnels but I like the result. What do you think?

    Cheers

I found some lighting problems in SHS, mostly with the Class 395.
Whenever I enterd a tunnel, at some point, even with cab lights off, it seemed like I was under bright sun because the cabin was illuminated as if it was 12 sharp on a sunny day.
If I'll encounter this problem again, I'll make sure to send a photo on this tread.

This has been this way from the start of TSW2.

Yep, but I think that on the SHS it happens more frequently, although I don't know why...

In Sand Patch, NTP or Peninsula Corridor you still had fog inside tunnels some weeks ago, that´s why I noticed the change in this route. What I remember to see was the same as in the second screenshot I posted during the whole tunnel lenght, specially in long tunnels, and that distant effect moved as a bubble around you as your train moved along the tunnel. Now there´s a more noticeable fadeout effect (as in the third picture) and then a fadein effect when you exit tunnel.

I played Köln-Aachen also today and there this is also appearing to have been changed. So I presume this has been overall changed in game with any of the recent patches or with the SHS release itself.

    Cheers

I've seen it in Köln-Aachen and SPG since the beginning.

    ???
Generally, in long unlit tunnels everything goes pitch-black for me, to the point I sometimes have to turn on the cab light if I want to do something.

I remember it due to another post from January:

Br182 Headlights | Dovetail Games Forums

There you can see fog inside the tunnel of Peninsula Corridor that´s why I understood something was changed. But anyway, it doesn´t matter. If it works well that´s the important thing :D

    Cheers

You Mean like this (in this case near Strood) TSW2_Coppo_1612730135_00.png It's not the only place that it happens - this just happens to be the worst example.

They acknowledged this issue during the streams, and should be addressed in the first patch for SEHS

I sincerely didn't, but it's a big problem anyway and I hope they'll fix it soon

It's a known issue with a somewhat complicated technical background. DTG now understands what causes this and a fix is worked on. Wait for SEH patch that is promised to us.
