I've read the question here in the forum very often. "What's the best route", "What DLC should i buy". I like questions like that because i find such questions "what does the community think" really interesting. I would call myself a Statistics Nerd, so i would like to translate this question into hard numbers. That's why I opened this poll. I have set the Poll so that you can choose your 3 favorite Routes. Edit: Depending on how this is received here in the forum, I will expand the poll with new add-ons such as Cane Creek
To be honest - I really struggled to pick just 3. I went with: Sand Patch Clinchfield SEHS but the following could also have easily made the list imo: Arosa Main Spessart Bahn Munich - Augsburg Great Western Bakerloo Northern Trans Pennine Peninsula Corridor Tbh - I'm one of the weird people that has every DLC - and quite enjoy everything - but the ones above are probably my go to areas...
After a day this Poll produced the following Result. The Top 3 are the following: 1st. Southeastern Highspeed and Eastcoastway 2nd. Hauptstrecke München-Augsburg and Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr 3rd. Schnellfahrtstrecke Köln-Aachen
Wait, how does Hamburg - Lübeck already have 1 vote? It's not even out yet :P Difficult question though I enjoy Germany most (until the day they'll add either the Netherlands or Japan), but I think in terms of just quality, without personal preference, I think East Coastway is really one of the best routes they've made, and I do thorougly enjoy South Eastern High Speed, even though British Rail isn't really my personal cup o' tea. I think Rhein Ruhr Nord is probably the prettiest one, but it suffers from having the old stepping stones still, and from very little variation in passenger services. Rhein Ruhr Osten is really good, but if only it were longer it'd be my favorite. I think I'm going to have to go with Hauptstrecke Rhein Ruhr because it looks nice, with a huge variety of rolling stock Although I enjoy all German routes I must say. Maybe Köln Aachen because it's so close to the Netherlands too Non of this means other routes are bad by any means though! Although I will say, that, although I do enjoy Arosa, I am very disappointed with the scenery, as I think are quite some people
I thought for a long time whether I should include Hamburg-Lübeck or not. I decided to do it because we have already seen several pictures and people can form a better opinion than, for example, Cane Creek, where we have only seen very few pictures so far.
I have a done a full ranking on what is my favourite/least favourite routes not just on TSW2 but on TSW as a whole, but for sake of this thread, here's the top 3: 1. Hauptstrecke München – Augsburg 2. Great Western Express 3. Main Spessart Bahn If you want to see the full ranking, see this thread for more and if you want to rank your routes/loco add-ons from worst to best, feel free to do so in the replies below: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/rank-the-routes-loco-add-ons-from-worst-to-best.32615/
I went with GWE & LIRR as my off to choices because those have Straight sections to where you can run 80-125 mph (130-200 km/h) 3rd is Main Spessart Bahn Aschaffenburg-Gemünden if you want a route that has twisting and curvy sections with 70-160 km/h (45-100 mph) speed sections. Furthermore that route can challenge yourself if you are not used to Sifa PZB signalling
It has to be: 1. East Coastway 2. Hauptstrecke München-Augsburg 3. Peninsula Corridor Can’t wait for Rush Hour and Boston-Providence
