With a route length of just shy of 60 miles, this route would be the longest available for TSW2 (to my knowledge). The service on the North Berwick line is operated by Class 380’s and fluctuates regularly, with it currently being hourly from around 7am to 16:45, after which there’s a gap to 19:41 until the next service, with the final service being at 20:39. The Borders Line is 35 miles long, and has an hourly service. This service is mostly Class 170’s, although Class 158’s do have at least 1 diagram on the line a day (weekdays).

    Class 380

Operated services on the North Berwick line up until the introduction of Class 385’s in 2019, and still currently works services from Edinburgh to Glasgow alongside Class 385’s. Can also be seen on services out of Glasgow Central towards Paisley, creating a new layer of services for Cathcart.

Operates services over the Borders Line alongside Class 170’s. Also works on the Fife Circle. Top speed of 90mph

Operates services over the Borders Line as well as to Arbroath and the Fife Circle. Top speed of 100mph

    Possible DLC
    • Class 801 in LNER livery upload_2021-12-29_2-3-21.jpeg
Operates express services on the ECML. Top speed of 125mph

    • ‘Caledonian Sleeper Pack’: Class 73/9, Class 92 + Mk5 Coaches upload_2021-12-29_2-9-55.jpeg
Operates the Caledonian Sleeper to and from London Euston. Would be used for empty stock moves to and from Craigentinny depot as well as night time traffic at Edinburgh when shunting around and joining sets.

Two routes I didn't think would be combined, although it's an interesting concept.

I've recently suggested both, with the North Berwick Line being part of the ECML to Berwick: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/ecml-north-edinburgh-berwick-upon-tweed.49717/

And the Borders being seperate: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/borders-railway.49955/

The North Berwick Line is entirely (except the short, 1-track branch to North Berwick) on the East Coast Mainline. So it makes more sense - to me - for it to be part of the ECML. As the other terminus for ScotRail on the line, Dunbar, is located a few miles south, but services to it are near enough express, and LNER and other InterCity operators call at it. Berwick is exclusively served by InterCity operators, and is a good stopping point from Edinburgh.

As for the Borders Railway, it doesn't really matter if it's standalone or not as it's mostly a self-contained line anyway. Although if it's seperate it's more likely we could see the 170 and 158 together.

If I remember correctly Sherman Hill is in the order of 70.
For the most part that's correct, although the 385 also runs here.

Either alot of information missed, or your sources are inaccurate.

    • The Class 380 still runs the North Berwick Line, but the 385 takes the edge in terms of frequency.
    • It works Edinburgh - Glasgow, yes, but not the route that most people refer to as "Edinburgh - Glasgow", via Falkirk High, the TS Route. That's 385 only.
As for the other Edinburgh - Glasgow lines:
    - Edinburgh - Glasgow QS LL (for Helensburgh) is the Class 334.
    - Edinburgh - Glasgow QS via Cumbernauld is the Class 385.
    - Edinburgh - Glasgow Cent. via Shotts are the 380 and 385.
    - Edinburgh - Glasgow Cent. via Carstairs are the 380 and 385, with CrossCountry running it on alternate hours.

    • It can be seen towards Paisley, however it also runs peak time circle services, some branch services, and of course the AI towards Edinburgh.

And the Kyle Line, Far North Line, Highland Mainline, the Edinburgh - Dundee, Inverness and Arbroath lines, Inverness - Aberdeen, etc.

The same as the 158 minus the Kyle and Far North lines.

Both are good routes, however better off seperated, in my view.
