This route looks amazing, with potential for great variety between new and old, intercity and S-bahn services. Plus it offers more immersion as you can finish a service on one route, then load up this one to catch/drive a service to the start of another route. It also has a lot of potential for loco DLCs if DTG doesn't put all of the suggested ones in the base layer.

I don't expect DTG to put more then two trains in the base route (this is more then typical), so the ICE 4, IC2 and BR 110 + n-Wagen would all make good DLC that I think would sell good, as they are all really iconic. The ICE 4 and IC2 greatly appeal to the players that like the modern era, while the BR 110 would offer those who want to see vintage locos a lot of fun!

However, I don't want to dissapoint you, the S-bahn services frankly don't really offer that much on this route. They're only short layers with 15-20 minute services max, and not the focus of this suggestion (although they would still offer a little variety, and a good option to spend 15 minutes of you life ;)). Luckily the route more then makes up for that with ICE, IC, RE, RB and freight services. Köln-Kalk Nord yard and the Güterumgehungsbahn offer a lot of options for freight and shunting layers from other routes like MSB and RSN (or maybe even a DLC), which in my opinion truly rounds out the service variety needed.

If DTG would add your option to continue driving on the route, than the S Bahnen would have a lot of use than just going from Hagen to Wuppertal Steinbeck, they would continue to the station where the S Bahn doesn't continue anymore the Main route

If they do implement that the route does indeed have something to offer for the S-bahn around Wuppertal, extending the current line on RRO from Wuppertal-Steinbeck to Haan-Gruiten.

Yes and if DTG implements linked routes feature then the IC2 seen here will be the link between RWB (The suggested route) RRO & Riesa-Dresden . The pop up will say do you wish to continue to Dresden Yes or No if Yes is Chosen then Riesa-Dresden is booted up for you but if no you're given return to Main Menu Journey and Free Roam

I would say, that this route has to start in Köln Süd, so that they add these two stations to the route and then continues to Wuppertal, so that we have many stations that are in cologne included

They should start at Bonn, end Line for RB48.

That could be fun, but it might be a little too long.

That might be doable then, but do keep in mind the Güterumgehungsbahn adds 10 km to tha aswell.

I wrote this suggestion a while back, before routes started getting really long, by now I think including the route as far as Bonn is a very good option. However Köln - Koblenz might also come one day, at which point that section would become redundant, definetely if we ever get mergers.

I guess it's up to DTG to decide if the route ever comes, and what exactly it will contain. I really do hope the Güterumgehungsbahn is included though, as I think it offers a good bit of variation.

How on earth would RRO link with Riesa Dresden?
They are halfway across the country.

I think he or she ment, that these routes could be connected with for example Cologne- Wuppertal with RRO and Riesa Dresden with Riesa Leipzig

A Leipzig Riesa route wouldnt connect with RRO either though.
The poster in question suggested this on https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/gütersloh-hbf-hannover-hbf.40347/ this thread saying it would connect even though there is still a massive gap. I have seen them reply to threads before with false-information and non-sensical things like this.

He mean that the IC2 drives from Köln to Dresden via Leipzig Hbf in real life.

Absolutely correct that's what I was talking about the IC 55 line Dresden Riesa Leipzig Hagen Wuppertal Köln. And by the way do we have members that did the entire IC2 route if broken down by segments Köln-Wuppertal RWB this suggestion followed by RRO Segment Wuppertal Hagen & Leipzig-Riesa-Dresden. That includes the missing section which is Hagen to Leipzig via Hannover

Seems interesting, i would prefer an ICE 4 over and ICE 2 but each to their own

Did DTG mention what German route will come after Riesa-Dresden?

Nope, nothing is really known about after Rush Hour. I imagine we won't know until after Rush Hour is released either.

But how does DTG decide what route they will add? Do they look at the community what they want or do they look at Train Simulator what routes there are

A combination of many factors, among which (but not limited to, and in no specific order):
    • The Team being interested in a route or type of route.
    • The ability to get reliable data and reference material on both route and loco.
    • The ability to get licensing.
    • The ability to create the route in game (Is it not too long? Is the signalling too complex? etc.)
    • Does DTG think the route would be fun and sell well?
    • Demand
      • Very popular specific routes (ones that get mentioned and liked a lot on the forums, in streams, etc.)
      • Very popular types of routes (i.e. American Freight, or German High Speed, Commuter, etc.), which DTG will then couple to a route they feel fulfills that demand.
    • (Good and detailed) route suggestions being made on the forums.
There probably are many more factors, but these are mentioned by Matt and Sam a lot in streams. It comes down to wheter DTG thinks the route is fun and would sell well, combined with DTG actually being able to create the route.

But as you can see a lot of people are interested in getting the Wuppertal Cologne route, so DTG would have an interesting route that would get selled pretty good, same for Köln-Frankfurt

That's not true, TS and TSW are very different games, they have a little help with the layout of the routes but otherwise they have to create everything new and that's a lot of work, so it's like making a new route for them

Yeah that's a good point, but the community also gives a lot of info for the routes they suggest, but we'll see what will come after Rush Hour

If this route were to be made by DTG Köln Hbf to Wuppertal Steinbeck Yard will be built or Köln Hbf to Wuppertal Hbf built and linked to RRO

Yes, it runs all the way from Köln Ehrenfeld (where the güterumgehungsbahn connects to the main line and potentially SKA) via both Köln Hbf and Wuppertal Hbf to Wuppertal Oberbarmen, where RB 48 terminates.

Got it then and Wuppertal Hbf is where the link to Rhein Ruhr Osten is provided if Adam and His team do rework RRO to link with this route then SKA.

Hopefully this is the new route that comes out after Rush hour, I was thinking, that it could be a little longer, maybe get an extra length to Köln Süd or also S Bahn layers to Troisdorf other the Airport, but that could be too much maybe

How about if this route would contain branches, like an extra S Bahn Branche to Troisdorf that also includes the airport, or that it would be a route that goes between Bonn Mehlem and Wupperthal Oberbarmen, that would be a route with about 90-100 km length, I like the concept of branches and I would like to see that in upcoming routes
