Please read for an important update for players experiencing issues with Train Simulator Classic.
Following the update of Train Simulator Classic we've received reports from some customers experiencing issues. We are currently working with our development team and community on this. See below for updates on this.

Update Wednesday 3rd May 15:11 BST
We have pushed an update that solves the issue with images causing crashes. Make sure you have automatic updates switched on to get this.
We're reviewing the other improvements listed in our previous update, and will update when ready to release.

Update Wednesday 3rd May 12:00 BST
We are currently testing fixes for the issues related to thumbnail images causing crashes, and number 4 camera not working - when these have been given the green light, we will release them as soon as we're able to.
Our development team are looking at the impact of the LUA update, and options to restore it to pre-update functionality. Whilst we investigate the options we have currently available to us, whether that be a fix, restoring it to its original state, or no fix being available, we recommend that anyone developing content for Train Simulator Classic to hold fire on changing scripts for the time being.
We will keep you updated when we have concluded these investigations, and if any additional actions are needed.

Update Friday 28th April 17:00 BST
The DX12 Experimental Build is now available. This can be selected from the launch menu after you hit play on Steam. You may need to restart Steam to see this option. Windows 10 or higher is required for this and the latest version of Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime may also be required. Please note, this feature is in development so your experience may vary.
Regardless of running DX12 or 64-Bit versions it's also a good idea to check and make sure you have the latest Microsoft Visual C++ and other required dependancies to play Train Simulator Classic. You can find more information on this and how to update on our support pages here.
Please let us know your feedback on DX12 Experimental in this dedicated forum thread.

Update Friday 28th April 13:30 BST
Thanks everyone who has sent us through feedback from yesterday's core update.
The team have been working hard to identify the cause of some of the issues some players have mentioned since the update has come out. We wanted to update you in the areas we're currently investigating.
We will be working on a post-release patch - which we want to thoroughly test before putting live - focusing on solving these areas.
    • 1) Image handling, and offering additional protection on how the game recognises certain imagery
    • 2) Add-ons that use DLLs
    • 3) players using dynamic lighting
    • 4) Number 4 camera broken
We'll also be additionally investigating any areas we're seeing large numbers of crashes.
The Experimental DX12 build will be be going live later this afternoon, and we're asking players to submit feedback for that in this thread. We will be monitoring feedback separately over the next couple of weeks.
Thanks again, and we hope you're enjoying the new Core builds - which are the first step on our journey to a more stable, better performing Train Simulator Classic.

Update Friday 28th April 13:00 BST
For customers experiencing freezing issues related to specific routes. We've identified a potential cause for this. Whilst we're working on a fix we have found a temporary solution that can be applied locally by individual players. You can find step-by-step instructions for this on our customer support site here.

    Update - Friday 5th May, 2023 - 14:43 BST

We believe we have a fix for the issues related to LUA issues (potential cause of the challenges players have been having with third-party content), #4 camera, a couple of crash issues. It is currently going through testing.

    Update - Thursday 18th May 15:00BST

The development team are continuing to work on LUA related issues that we're currently tracking (which appear to be floating point numeric precision related). Unfortunately, it does mean we cannot push the latest fixes until this is complete.

As an outline to where we are currently, we have fixes confirmed for:
    • Steam Engine Injectors
    • Number 4 Camera
    • Frontend Fatal Errors
    We're continuing to work on:
    • LUA Script Errors / Broken Loco Functionality
    • Save & Reload Specific issues
There may be more problems that have been reported but for us, the above represents the most critical issues that need to be taken care of asap. We will confirm when this next update is ready to release.

We've just put live an update that will resolve the majority of the remaining issues from April's Core update, including fixes for:

    • Steam Engine Injectors
    • Number 4 Camera
    • Frontend Fatal Errors
    • 99% Fix for LUA Script Errors / Broken Loco Functionality

We have identified that the Save & Reload issues are related to Chinese localisation and have fixes pending for the specific content which require updating. The fixes will roll out independently of the core update once they have been tested.

As ever, if you see any issues after the update, please let us know on this thread link. Thanks for your patience once again!
