Thank you! I must agree that everyone has been posting awesome screenshots recently and that includes you triznya.andras , I look forward to seeing your posts each week!
Second set of images chronologically documenting a stopping passenger service QD from London Victoria to Raintree (via Herne Hill) on Chatham Main Line DTG route. Motive power is provided by a GAD-enhanced DT LSWR Adams Radial Tank 4-4-2T steam loco, clad in Holly Green livery. It pulls LSWR Salmon Coaches. I appreciate Quick Drives that provide A.I. rail traffic: Penge East:
On a Summer Saturday in 1957 the 10.28 Manchester (London Road) to Bournemouth (West) ran as a relief to the Pines Express which departed at 10.20. By the time they were on the S&D, the main train was 51 minutes ahead - with a further relief from Liverpool LS in between! - and the locomotive 'barrel' was being scraped at Bath MPD which meant the 10.28 was booked to nothing more than a pair of LMS 4F 0-6-0s. Needless to say this was hard work over Masbury with a 12-bogie load, and the somewhat unnecessary stops at Shepton Mallet and Wincanton did not exactly assist in recovering the schedule, in addition to the normal Evercreech Junction call. On this occasion, 43924 and 44422 have struggled over the hills and managed to keep the late running to a mere 10 mins on arrival at Templecombe (Upper). The pilot locomotive will now be detached, and after a (nominal) 25 min stop, at 18.05 the main train is hauled by a pilot loco back down to Templecombe Junction and continues south to Bournemouth with just the single locomotive, calling almost everywhere en-route. Not the greatest journey for those passengers who may have left Manchester 8 mins behind the principal Pines but will arrive Bournemouth West a full 1h23m behind it! Route: S&D Bath-Bournemouth (Southern Enhanced - V2) Available from UKTS website. Stock: KWVR 4F (pilot- player) + DT 4F (train loco), Various Matrix trains LMS Period 1/2/3, Bulleid & Gresley coaches.
Cheers triznya.andras and thanks. I have been away a bit & busy IRL and with some other games I've got into. When I'm on here, I do enjoy seeing the range of screenshots and content people are using. I probably need to do a few more workshop QD items for TS as well, as it's been a while since my last.
Tenth set of captures chronologically documenting a 70-mile stopping passenger service QD, from London Liverpool Street Station to Ipswich, on GEML London Ipswich DTG route. The train consists of a CW GER T26 2-4-0 tendered steam loco, seen in GER Wartime Gray, pulling five GER carriages. Two views at yet another of too many stations I failed to properly label:
British Railways Q1 Class '33036' rushes by British Railways Class 37 'D6690' at Moorewood. '33036' is currently leading a passenger train bound for Radstock which originated from Templecombe. '33036' is filling in for another locomotive which broke down and with '33036' being recently repainted, she was up for the job. When the train reaches Radstock, another locomotive will take over for the rest of the run to Bath Green Park. Previously however, a young boy had come up to '33036' at Evercreech Junction and called the locomotive the ugliest train he had ever seen! Final set of captures from the Standard Scenario "Partial Drop", a stopping service on GAD's West of England Mainline, spanning the entire length of the line (as of v1.1). The train is pulled by a post-makeover SSS Ivatt 2MT 2-6-2T "Prairie" steam locomotive, in weathered BR black. Captures were made further into the scenario. None are post-worthy (and have been deleted). I'm still not comfortable 2MT's braking, which is a bit trickier than I'm used to. Despite that, I managed to pull off good stops at all stations the scenario mandates (which isn't all of them) and kept within timetable... until terminus. There I applied too much brake, stopping the train a few yards short of the station platform. By the time I'd recovered enough to ease into the station and open car doors, I was almost two minutes late. Thankfully, the scenario didn't ding me for this, granting me a completion mark.
British Railways 4073 Class '7036' 'Taunton Castle' has a difficult 20 mile journey ahead starting at Exeter St Davids and ending at Newton Abbot stopping at Dawlish and Teignmouth in between. Due to recent coal strikes, supplies were running low and the train had less than required amounts of coal and the train had picked up a low amount of water at its last water stop and has to complete the journey with a small amount of coal and water. Upon reaching Newton Abbot, the passenger train will be continued with another locomotive taking over. Unfortunately, I have never been that great when it comes to conserving water and coal with steam locomotives. In an attempt to, I ended up a bit late at Dawlish and Teignmouth by not going for the maximum speed limit and mostly holding steady speeds around 50 miles per hour. I started the journey with 0.70 tonnes of coal and 800 gallons of water and ended the journey with 0.38 tonnes of coal and 210 gallons of water left. I'm impressed so far with the new Sky pack from AP, there are lots of weather patterns to choose from, a lovely DLC. I haven't bothered with my RWEnhancer 2 any more, too much faffing about every day updating. Cheerz. Steve.
Eleventh set of captures chronologically documenting a 70-mile stopping passenger service QD, from London Liverpool Street Station to Ipswich, on GEML London Ipswich DTG route. The train consists of a Caledonia Works GER T26 2-4-0 tendered steam loco, seen in GER Wartime Gray, pulling five GER carriages. Below: two captures at Marks Tey railway station: This second Marks Tey image was captured with the cameraman standing just shy of GEML - Gainsborough Line junction. That line, which terminate at Marks Tey, extends 11-miles to Sudbury in Suffolk. In the T26's heyday, it was known as the Stour Valley Railway, and extended to Shelford in Cambridgeshire: Historic photo of an ex-GER 2-4-0 Cambridge train departing Marks Tey in 1951: While checking (link) Mark Tey Station's (link) Wikipedia page for info on what railway joins with the GEML at that point, I was delighted to see, as the last of several photos accompanying the article, this photo of what was obviously a GER T26 in pre-grouping days. The photo's description is a bit vague, but it seems this run occurred on the Stour Valley Railway rather than GEML. Still, I find it a happy coincidence to have stumbled on a direct link between the T26 and Marks Tey / GEML. To keep myself safe, I should mention that this photo falls under (link) Creative Commons Attribution Share-alike license 2.0 (link) and that I in no way altered it.
Part 1 of 3 British Railways Peppercorn Class A2 '60532' 'Blue Peter' is leading an 11 coach long railtour passenger train and is on the last stretch bound for King's Cross after having originated from York. The train begins the final stretch departing from Peterborough, with many excited people on the platform wanting to see the train. After departing, the train will travel a distance of 45 miles before coming to a stop at Hitchin where the train is once again met with a group of excited people at the platform and will make a long stop of 10 minutes to allow for photographs to be taken. I pushed the train very hard on this journey, reaching a constant and maximum speed of around 98 miles per hour, however unfortunately the train never was able to hit the golden 100 miles per hour. Part 2 of 3 British Railways Peppercorn Class A2 '60532' 'Blue Peter' finally begins the last part of the journey from York to King's Cross. After a 10 minute stop at Hitchin for photos to be taken, the train struggles to depart with wheel slip due to light rain showers. However, the train is eventually underway and heads straight for King's Cross covering a distance of 31 miles. Around 50 minutes after stopping at King's Cross, it will be time for the train to head to Bounds Green Depot for the night.
