No worried Alex. This was on the roadmap already so it’s just filled in the content of the update. Alex is there a planned release date yet?

 

Personally, I don't like the proposed format of announcements in the topic! It's a fairly significant event for me, but it's presented tastelessly (without desire and love) and uninformatively.
It feels like everyone went on vacation, and the announcements were asked to be made by a person passing by.

 

Probblay known to them but reasle dates will only be annoucened when its ready

 

I wasn’t excepting to see that route updated to be honest and I’m more than pleased, 4000 services is insane. Hats off to everyone involved in that update. Just out of curiosity, was the catenary updated as well, I mean is it more detailed like we have actually without wires coming out from another wires like in MSTS ?

EDIT: mmmmh I just re read and it’s more a timetable update than anything else.

 

Ok lovetrains 3628, but this update is sure to please all the German fans as well as those interested in the route. Already looking forward to it’s release.

 

Ok that's really a disappointment. No TOD4 not a new vehicle.. just disappointing. But well, the Cologne main train station will finally be a little more lively.and no fixes for the SKA 44/ or something.. sad

 

Not sure I like the new format. I think I'd rather have a thread for each specific announcement. Now the discussion can get messy as there's different topics to discuss in a single thread.

 

We’ve know this update from Joe was coming for a while. It was made explicitly clear this was just a timetable update, you set yourself up for disappointment if you wanted more especially a new train

 

Looking forward to seeing a more detailed breakdown of the layers required to unlock the range of services. Currently I have:
SKA (including New Journeys expansion)
KWG
FFA
Flixtrain Vectron

I was tempted to get the BR 101 as it crops up on so many German routes, but not sure it's worth it if you have to also get other routes like HRR to unlock it. Then it starts to get pricey for content I probably wouldn't play otherwise.

That new timetable is incredible, when it's "live" I'm gonna have to download my German DLCs.

 

Looks great. This will really bring SKA to life. Can't wait for a release date

With Joe's track record this timetable will no doubt be absolutely excellent, Köln Hbf is soon gonna be a prime location for trainspotting. It's just a shame that, without a ToD4 update, I know I'm not going to play nearly as much of it as I would like to. I just can't do the old lighting anymore, especially with how bad every loco from TSW3 onward tends to look in it.
We already knew Köln - Aachen was most likely not gonna get any other upgrades, but it's still kinda sad to see.

 

I’m also gonna have to chime in and defend Fife Circle here. Recently got it on sale, and the work they’ve done since release is remarkable. The scenery is genuinely quite god now, it was spectacular even on the inner circle with no ocean in sight. Clearly someone went over the the route all over again and improved it. It’s definitely very enjoyable now… I’m even considering getting the 158 once it is discounted a bit to get the full experience.

 

It needs TOD4. but I welcome the timetable update. Haven't played that route in a while as having been on that route a lot over recent years, it never felt busy enough compared to real life. This might be enough to tempt me to try it again.

I totally agree. It’s definitely a good route. And when the 158 timetable releases it will be more busier.

 

Munchen-Augsburg definitely needed work, so this is a good thing.

I won't be playing it without a TOD4 and feature (e.g. bridge/tunnel reverb) update, personally, but honestly i'm at a point in TSW where i have so much to play that i'm ok with that.

I also know some people prefer the old lighting, so great news for them at least

Why are people moaning about TOD4? This was always advertised a new timetable only, not a route remaster.

 

It isn’t, he’s working with DTG to officially release it. Read the thread.

 

Imagine a new remaster for the BML with the 700 included that would be amazing

they intended to include th 700 when adding the 700 but said it would create too many crashes

 

Please please PLEASE at least update all stock present in Koln Aachen to be able to display all in-map and off-map destinations correctly now for this new TT...and so the station PIS....

That is true and I agree with you. I wasn't expecting any more than the new timetable.

I will say however that I don't enjoy routes with the old lighting so SKA will remain uninstalled for me until it does get a remaster, if it does of course.

The question for Series S players, of course, is whether any of the new timetable is coming for Series S, and if so, how much? My hope is that somebody can provide an answer, before this gets released.

As regards today’s announcement well a free timetable update is always welcome and a chance to revisit a route largely fallen off the radar. No TOD4, well if it means we don’t get the overdone adaptive eye bursting in and out of bridges and tunnels I won’t lose any sleep. Reverb though would be nice. So a thumbs up from me today.

 

This is pretty cool. So it’s a normal modern passenger line and a heritage railway branch in one route? I had no idea this was being worked on. Perhaps it’ll indeed be part of the December announcements.

 

I'm just gonna voice my "concern". It's nice to get a new timetable but it's a shame it's not going to get updated to TODv4. I know I won't end up playing it much due to that.

It also leaves a sour taste as Cathcart got TODv4 and GWE will get TODv4. Yet Hamburg - Lübeck when it got the 218 and now Köln - Aachen won't get TODv4 feels wrong.

I wish they would be more consistent with it tbh.

I'm a more understanding when it's a free update, but the paid DLC for the 218 on Hamburg seems very much like a missed opportunity for a bigger update.

From memory it was planned for the 700 to be added if it was released (at the time it wasn't confirmed that the 700 was even coming) as there are paths left that are clearly meant to be for the 700, but when it was being worked on it kept crashing the route because of all the services already on it, Matt said that it was harder getting 0-1 item added than it was 1-1000, and it was that 0-1 item that kept crashing it.

 

I would prefer a separate topic for each reveal. Otherwise, awesome to see so many new things.

 

Somewhat confusingly DTG have chosen to do each (and every) reveal at the head of this thread. So you have Monday's reveal, followed by Tuesday's... Then a mish mash of comments relating to any one or all of reveals.

 

Agree. Very untidy format. At the least the newest reveal should be at the top pushing the older entries further down, not having to scroll all the way through. Will be very tedious come Day 15 or 16. DTG Alex please consider doing that way if not a separate thread for each item.
